roseanna vitro-catchin some rays-the music of ray charles-telarc. dont know anything about this lady. but i must say, she is one great jazz singer. i will see whats on you tube by her. gord

Today I have been enjoying At the Lighthouse : Cannonball Adderly Quintet , Somethin' Else: Cannonball Adderly and Miles Davis, Lee Morgan: The Best of The Blue Note Years.:trp:

sonny rollins--saxophone colossus-prestige. this is considered the best hardbop album ever by many jazz lovers. i think they could be right, i find it excellent. gord

gerry mulligan and paul desmond-verve cd. this is one of a series of albums mulligan recorded with jazz giants. like all the others this is marvellous swinging jazz. gord:cool:

Gord, I just wanted to echo Teddy's sentiments on your Teagarden link. Although I had heard of him, I had never actually heard him play, believe it or not! Now I understand why he is so popular. Would you happen to know what year that rendition of "Dark Eyes" was made? I would guess sometime in the middle forties or thereabouts. But anyway, thanx again.
