Well I got through about 12 of the STV Jazz series vids on the toob that I linked to earlier, the series hosted by Annie Ross and that hosted by George Chisholm I much preferred to the parts of the 3rd series hosted by Ronnie Scott that I've heard so far, both in terms of the guest stars and the "resident" studio bands.

I've started to download the audio of some of the sessions and editing to get the tracks I like. - Keeps me off the streets

cornell dupree- bop and blues-kokopelli records. strange mixture of jazz and blues. despite some great guitar from dupree, excellent baritone sax from ronnie cuber and good work from the others, i found myself aching for this to go in a complete jazz direction. i have to consider this experiment unsuccessful. gord

Stan Getz & Kenny Barron's two CD album - People Time. It just screams "We don't need drums!". The highest level of piano and saxophone artistry. A real treat for me.

None yet, went to see Cleo Laine last night. Her Christams concert "This lady is a dame", it was very much a family affair. Some very good guest musicians and singers as well.

more blakey-drums around the corner-blue note. just lee morgan, bobby timmonsand jymie merritt, backed by three drummers, blakey, philly joe and roy haynes who swing powerfully behind morgan and timmons. unfortunately it keeps turning into a drum battle between the three drummers. gord:cool:

Very impressed by a track on last FM, Buck Clayton "Boss Blues" from a CD "A Buck Clayton jam session" It's a long track 15 mins +, some excellent Buck Clayton playing, Earl Hines, Zoot Sims, Urbie Green, Milt Hinton and others, about 10 or 12 piece group, medium tempo it really swings!

Try and find it, there's a short clip on Amazom MP3, but only ther complete album (4 tracks) for download
