I am just the opposite teddy, instrumental for me every time in Jazz.my usual trouble that after 16 tracks I yearn for some vocals.

I'm in agreement with J.H.C.; I prefer instrumental as opposed to vocal jazz every time out. And also like J.H.C., today I listened to some Bach. Then I listened to some of the Miles Smiles cd. Some really great playing and compositions on this album by tenor saxophonist extraordinaire Wayne Shorter such as "ORBITS" and "FOOTPRINTS".:tiphat::clap::clap:I am just the opposite teddy, instrumental for me every time in Jazz.
Saw him live in concert when he visited NZ must be over 40 yrsmaybe i'll surprise you,

I've always loved his music

John, how are you? I remember Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass and always enjoyed listening to them. However, would you consider their music to be jazz or some version of Latin tinged lite popular Am radio type style? Just wondering--and wandering. Steve.:grin:maybe i'll surprise you,
