I finally picked up Fr. Owen Lee's Wagner's Ring- Turning the Sky Round.

I'd previously hesitated because I read the same author's First Intermissions, and discovered that he didn't have the measure of Tannhäuser. I've subsequently decided that's okay- lots of folks (e.g.: Thomas May, too) trip up on Tannhäuser.

One day I'm going to write an essay and sort it out for everyone:smirk:- I'll probably post it over in this spot.

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen A delightful read beautifully written. Recommended for the storry line and the descriptive narrative.

Horse Under Water - Len Deighton. Set in Portugal concerns the attempted retrieval of counterfeit money from a submarine. Well written and good sharp dialogue

Re-reading A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle. A charming book about small village life in France. Nothing really happens of great importance but it will keep you gripped.

Just finished re reading Jean Auel's 6 volume Earth's Children. I've had the first 3 volumes for some time, read the last 3 from the local library, then recently found them on Ebay, so I now have the full set.

Highly recommended, set in Europe during the last ice age, exceedingly well researched. First volume was published in 1980, the final one 2010.

Just about to start LOVELY BONES by Alice Sebold. The story of the abduction and murder of a teenage girl. Say the film about a year ago and have only just got round to starting the book.
