A facinating audio book from Libravox; The Lancashire Witches by William Harrisin Ainsworth, read by Andy Minter. A beautifully told tale, and an excellent reader!

Duma Key by Stephen King. A prolific writer mainly of the horror genre. Obviously a well read man judging by the references one finds scattered about his books.

I was watching a programme we have in the Uk called Countryfile, it was on last night. It was filmed in the area of Pendle, and they talked about the story of the witches, I must see if I can find the book, it sounds very interesting.

Want to search out some Phillip K Dick, who I have never read. Will start with Do androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Would be interested to hear any ones opinions of him. Have heard he was rather a strange man but maybe it was just his writing that caused that reputation.

teddy ( a Blade Runner fan. I have three of the eight versions)

He well might have been strange, Teddy, but in a good sense; he foresaw--much like Wells and Verne--but with a darker and more pessimistic vision, many of the downsides and negative attributes of much of the technology that are present with us today. Enjoy your journey!

Absolutely, Teddy; he is one of the giants of his craft who shall live on forever. RIP Mr. Bradbury, we shall greatly miss you.

Lord of the Flies. Read it about 40 years ago. On the copy I have the inside appears to be signed by the author. This is an old copy handed out to a pupil at a local colledge almost 30 yeard ago.. I must try and find out if it is a genuine signature.

Just about to start The Woman Who went to Bed for a Year by Sue Townsend, a birthday gift from my youngest. I got hooked on Townsend through the Adrian Mole diaries. She has an acutely wry slant on life
