Yeah, getting rid of the uncomfortable words and leaving only the safe ones was a brilliant idea, indeed. Scary and vicious, but brilliant. I'm not sure though if incorporating the book into the learning program in schools would be such a good idea. Lets be honest - it's not an easy reading. Would a teenager be able to comprehend all the intracies within the book? Plus, there are some parts that seem to be a bit too "harsh" for young minds at schools (for example the tortures Winston went through after he had been caught). But then, I guess it depends on a person. Some may be ready for it, others not so much. I personally would prefer to have had to read the book, but probably in one of the last years of HS.
