Hi Mat,
Perhaps more than SR the two who really appealed to me on the referenced albums were Clifford Brown and JJJ.
But now we're talking SR I have just switched to my iTunes folder ( would you believe almost 13,000 tracks) on which I have 2 other SR CDs "SR Jazz Profiles" and "Tenor Titan" Now listening to "Tenor Titan"

13,000 tracks? That's a nice collection you've got there, John. I've got something close to 8,000 track (of jazz, of course). How's the technology working out for you? iTunes and your iPod? I also remember you had some issues with your PC. Hope it's all solved by now?

You know what gord, I just realized after clicking Griffin on you tube and seeing this song {"Smokestack"} that I had in fact heard him playing on this tune with Coltrane on the album trane's blues. I intend to listen to this and some of his other work later on today. Thanx again for the heads up!

Hi Mat,
Back to April 3 and your post,
Yes thanks,my problems seem to be resolved with regard to the PC. (fingers crossed).
I have all my CDs on WMP and iTunes (but of course I have full back-ups, mostly as the original Cd or a CD produced from a download).

Hi man, you'l be the first to know, I have just downloaded 2 new CDs.
One by Jon-Erik Kellso and the other by Bob Wilber.
(go to the appropriate thread).
I have been listening to the 2 CDs referred above.

Cheers John

today i listened to cecil taylor octet-jumpin punkins-candid (lp)
this could be the most weird album i have. a mixture of different styles.
the sidemen, clark terry, archie shepp, steve lacy, billy higgins. there is hardbop, modern jazz, mainstream jazz and taylor. at first i did not like it, but half way through, it started to grow on me. now i find very good. some of you will probably hate this. gord:cool:
