Not being rude John but are they multi channel. With mine you have to match the channels on the headphones with the channel on the sender. Sorry if T am staeing the bleeding obvious

No I didnt take them back, just wrote it off to experience (and they lose my custom forever). See also my reply to teddy.

Hi teddy,
About the earphones.
With the "sender" part of the system plugged into the hifi I have tried all the possible channel combinations. I do receive a signal but it is drownded out by the interference.
A very strange factor is that even without the "sender" plugged in I still get the TV interference.
I have no technical expertise in this area but this has me flabbergasted.

Sounds like a faulty unit John. very frustrating for you. Normally I would rate that make quite highly.
