The tortillas were delicious, but nice as it was to sit and eat, there was work to be done. More treasures to find and catalogue.

A little boy walks up to me petting a big hairy tarantula spider and the
big creature was so beautiful. Before he handed me the tarantula I
made sure that my hands didn't have any smell on them for the spider
might be hungry. The creature happens to be the size of my hand but
very gentle and tame.

There was another sight not to far from Tikal that they found.

They dug until they found two more jeweled boxes with skulls in them the
same way the other two were found. This place was amazing for Choc
and that was when I had to tell them goodbye that I was on my way to
Mexico City to check out an Aztec ruin and don't be worried. I wasn't
going to be away that long. I loved this beautiful place full of nature.

On my way to Mexico City I thought about Monosuma the king who ruled
the Aztec people.

Monosuma, had been a very wealthy king, and I suspected that if we dug near where his Aztec palace had been, we would be rewarded with great treasure. Of course some of his treasure had been buried with him. But the thought still made me very excited, this trip abroad had become quite an adventure, and there was more fun to come.

The next place we wounded up was the dessert and a dust devil so
happened to whirl it's way in our path.

It was very difficult walking with all the dust blowing about. We decided that it would be best to stop and rest, I pulled out my drink bottle and had some water. I could not wait to get to Mexico City, there would be plenty of treasure to dig for.

As quickly as it had come the dust devil disappeared, and we were able to get on our way.

When the dust finally cleared we found this big structure the size of a
small mountain.

I could not believe what I was seeing, the structure was very tall, and it was large with a slightly domed roof. We all ran towards it to get a better look. It was a yellowy colour, as if it was meant to be hidden in the sand. Suddenly I heard a shout, "look, come quickly, there is a door."

We all ran around and sure enough the man was standing in front of a door. It was big, but how were we going to open it.

It was an incredible building, and we all wanted to have a look inside. But I had no idea how to open the door. Suddenly I heard a creaking sound, and I stared at the door, it seemed to be moving all by itself.

I was already warned that strange things went on here and now I believe
it. What appeared was an indian in his aztec warrior cloths.

The Indian looked at us, "Who are you?" he asked, "and what are you doing near our sacred temple?" I felt very nervous, I did not expect anyone to be here.

I asked," Why is it so dry here? This is a lovely." As he walked toward
me he was for real. He said,"What is your name? Did you think I was
perhaps a ghost? I'm for real to give the grand tour in a few minutes.
I noticed you checking this place out. Look at the designs. This was
at one time the temple of the Sun. I came in here to stay away from
the dust devil. I hate those things. Enjoy your visit since I noticed too
that you were an anthropologist. Good luck on your findings." He then
shook my hand and gave me an arrowhead. :up:

Judy I notice your spelling has improved over night literally, well done ... what's your secret??!!

This computer I have has a spell check on it unlike the ones at the
public library. I wound up many times having to look up a word there.
Here with mine it cane with a spell checker and I have to check it
quite often. Some words I never heard of until lately.

Back to the story.

While I looked around I was still thinking about the guys further south
wondering how they were doing. Choc was some character. It was
to come a lunar eclipse last night but I missed it! It was raining and
storming all night before I came up here. Dog gone it!:banghead:

I was very upset at missing the eclipse. Yes I wondered how Choc was getting on, but I now had met someone else, and he was hopefully going to show me new wonders. But would he allow us to touch them, or even take some away?

While I was in downtown Mexico City, I was serenaded by a musician
playing his harp.YouTube - Zither: Ganz zaach-Polka (trad)
The Zither was of german quality while he was playing this tune Mexican
style wearing a sombrero. The music was joyful.
