Only this past week, I borrowed an album by Sir Frederik, in English called "The Song Is An Adventure". The songs composed by Sir Frederik on the adventures of the danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen, who would have been 200 years of age a couple of years ago. Really great album by Sir Frederik ;) How does he make the time to do all this stuff and yet keep us all happy here at the MIMF.
That's interesting! :) Maybe he can lend it to me too? ;)

There are vocals on this album, I thought it were women, but no women here, it´s just the choir of some elderly gentlemen. What I always say: Respect for the elder :grin::grin::grin:

Best regards,

The Vienna Boys Choir sounded women. ;)

Dear C5Says

When I said borrowed, I did not mean borrowed from Sir Frederik.

I have a distinguished local library/music library close to my apartment, some five minutes ride on my 3 wheels bike, where they are all extremely service minded. In fact, I haven´t yet managed to ask for some CD music, they could not find for me, even if the CD had to be ordered from somewhere else in Denmark.

I often use this library, if I am not too sure, whether I should buy an album or not. The album, I mentioned "The Song Is An Adventure", by Sir Frederik is very good and very nice composed music, not for pipe organs though, and then with some of danish Jazz´s best performers for decades, among those the late GREAT DANISH VIKING on the double bass: NHØP.

It´s like a non mentioned contest between us. Most librarians in generel get the popular questions, they know by heart. They gave me the title "rare wishes", they actually call me this when I arrive: Hi rare wishes.

Now is that cool or what?:cool:

The Vienna Boys Choir, you said. Are they castral singers? ;)

Thanks for clarifying. ;) It doesn't change my desire. :)

"Ask and it shall be given."
If you don't ask at all, how can you be given?
I guess what you ask your library is just great. :)

Aren't boys (not men) supposed to have girlish voices? Come to think of it, I really haven't dug deeper into the physical attributes of the singers. I just hear them and from my understanding they are boys (9-11 perhaps).

Honestly, da man

How many CD´s do you have? You´re an expert on jazz and classical music and pipe organ music too?

Have you given it some serious thoughts, now that you soon will enter the two-some life in a loving everlasting marriage, about extra rooms???:grin::grin::grin:

Bireli Lagrene Ensemble (from the Django Reinhardt acoustic guitar school) on his album "Routes To Django", JazzPoint 1980 feat. BL (solo guitar), Jan Jankeje (double bass), Gaiti Lagrene/Tschirglo Loeffler (rhytm guitars), Schmido Kling (violin), Jorg Reiter (piano), Bernd Marquart/Wolfgang Lackerschmid (trumpet).

Listen to this guy playing the acoustic guitar, and I remember the Orson Welles Film Noir "The Third Man".

Hello Intet,

Classical music is my first earthly love. I have been playing the organ and piano since I was in the single digit years of age. How many CD's do I have? Lets see now - as of today I have 1000 CD's.

Cheers,

CD :cheers::cheers::cheers:

Back on topic: At the moment: Berliner Messe by Arvo Pärt.

Hi Corno Dolce

Do you live on a ranch or at least a proper domicil? 1000 CD´s, I guess it would be fair to say you love music. So you must have taken piano lessons while a kid, perhaps you have a piano sitting in your living room to play when you just can´t help it?

For this morning Jan. 30, let´s listen to Charlie Haden & Carla Bley Big Band on the album "The Ballad Of The Fallen" in CH´s name, ECM Records 1983 feat. CH (double bass) CB (piano, glockenspiel, conducter), Don Cherry (pocket trumpet), Michael Mantler (trumpet) Jim Pepper/Dewey Redman/Steve Slagle (saxophones, clarinet, flute) Sharon Freeman (french horn), Mick Goodrick (guitar), Gary Valente (trombone) and Paul Motian (drums).

There´s a lot of spanish inspiration on this album.

Michel Petrucciani - solo piano - on the album "Promenade with Duke". MP was inspired on the piano by the great Duke Ellington.
