What music are you listening to?

Ooooooh can't it just.

I've been listening to various bits of Phantom in the last hour or so, because I need to conduct a Phantom medley shortly and getting some ideas from different versions is always useful in deciding what I'm to do with it...

(Youtube can be so useful at time can't it?)

Last night on tele there was a lad from Eton College that has cystic fibrosis who was a brilliant young organist, and he was conducting the school orchestra nad choir in a performance of Bach's magnificat. No mean feat at 17 anyway, and especially when you are that Ill!

I thought the Students were very good generally and considering how young some of them were, they clearly have an extremely good music departmant, but what would you expect of the school that was home to the two royal princes William and Harry for a good few years.

Hi NEB,

Thanx for sharing. An acquaintance of mine has a daughter who is seventeen and has Cystic Fibrosis. He told me about the $50,000 machine that she uses to palpate her chest and all the medicines she has to take - 13 different pills every day and an inhaler twice a day. My heart breaks in two when I hear about these things.

However, his daughter is gutsy enough to be a student abroad and she is studying in Berlin, Germany.

Cheers,

Only this past week, I borrowed an album by Sir Frederik, in English called "The Song Is An Adventure". The songs composed by Sir Frederik on the adventures of the danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen, who would have been 200 years of age a couple of years ago. Really great album by Sir Frederik ;) How does he make the time to do all this stuff and yet keep us all happy here at the MIMF.

Right now, I am listening to James Carter on the live album "Live at Baker´s Keyboards Lounge", Warner Bros. Records 2004, feat. JC (tenor, soprano and baritone saxophones), Johnny Griffin/David Murray/Franz Jannson (tenor saxophone), Larry Smith (alto saxophone), Dwight Adams (trumpet), Kenn Cox (piano), Gerard Gibbs (organ), Ralphe Armstrong (basses) and Edward King/Richard Allen (drums).

There are vocals on this album, I thought it were women, but no women here, it´s just the choir of some elderly gentlemen. What I always say: Respect for the elder :grin::grin::grin:

Best regards,

The Danish guitarist KARSTEN HOUMARK from the city Birkerød on Sjælland. I used to go to public school with him in the 9th grade. His album "Quintet" feat. KH (guitars, guitar synth.), Kenny Wheeler (trumpet, flugelhorn), Bob Rockwell (soprano saxophone), Arild Andersen (double bass) and Aage Tanggaard (drums)

I managed to make the signature - HOORAY!!
