Very Highly recommended for EU members, (I've checked .de and .it, not sure about others)

Does not appear the same on Amazon.com, there the offer is on CDs, not MP3s and prices do not look quite such a good offer, the Mel Powell is $15.98, still maybe a good price compared to the original issue, not as big a selection either. Looked at .ca they don't appera to offer MP3s at all!

Some really great bargains on Amazon MP3 downloads, in the Amazon search bar select Music MP3, then 4 classic albums plus, or three classic albums plus. The selection is bigger on .it, .de has 25 in the 4 albums, some titles different from UK.

Prices for complete downloads of for example 4 Mel Powell albums 42 tracks for £6.49, €6.99 (albums are from the Vanguard mid 1950s series and include Paul Quinichette, Ruby Braff, Buck Clayton and others) Coltrane 21 tracks £4.99, €6.99 Benny Carter 4 albums 46 tracks £6.49, 6.99 a couple are a bit dearer Jimmy Guiffre £9.98, €19.78 (2 disc content) Sun Ra £16.98, €27.84 (not my idea of Jazz but then ... ...) Over 20 Four Classic sets mostly around 40 tracks, in the Three album sets there are over 30 albums listed, Wes Montgomery, Buck Clayton, Stan Getz (including the Getz with Oscar Peterson trio) Goodman, Krupa, Buddy Rich, Shelley Manne, again prices mostly £4.99 or £6.99 typically 30 tracks. The Euro prices mostly seem about the same as UK with a few exceptions

So far today 5 albums and 8 single tracks downloaded, this week is getting expensive!! Things jumping into my basket/trolley at a model railway show, Comet closing down sale, a lot of BOGOFs and other "specials" in Tesco, now Amazon downloads. Methinks hibernation is called for!

@ Gord, is it possible for you in Canada to download MP3s from Amazon.co.uk or other european sites? I tried entering MP3 downloads on Amazon.ca and it looked as though there are none offered, would you normally use .com in that case?

I was surprised to say the least that the European offerings were not available on the other side of the pond.

I downloaded this yesterday, among others, it might say Perterson in the URL but it was 3 Getz albums

I have a problem.
I have regularly pasted music from Youtube onto the forum as most of you will be aware.
I find that this is no longer occurring. They wont paste any more.
Is this happening to others?

Hey guys, I've just noticed the above post (I haven't logged in for a while). Are you still having problems posting links and pictures?

Hmmm, everything seems to be working just fine. Let me know if you have any more difficulties.

On topic:

A few days ago I had an opportunity to attend a workshop led by Jack DeJohnette. A very interesting experience. He played both the
drums and piano (not at once, of course).

I also went to Diana Krall's concert last friday. She's promoting her newest album. It's not the kind of music she's usually associated with, so those of you who aren't too fond of her might give her another listen as this might surprise you.

So yeah, I had a pretty busy week.

Sounds like a great time you had Mat!
I haven't been out and about much this year, only one concert so far. Usually I have been to quite a few per year, not that it is old age that is keeping me in....well not quite!...just that locally it is checking to find the actual jazz content within a jazz program or jazz club that will make me adorn my zoot suit, batter my jazz hat into shape, put on my shades, and take off downtown snapping my fingers on two and four!!! and scatting "salt peanuts, salt peanuts!" Now, if Jack DeJohnette had been in town I would have headed there faster than Charlie Parker could play Cherokee!!

last night; Donald Byrd Quintet- Live In Paris. 2 CD's.
Yusef Lateef -Gong. CD.
Oscar Pettiford Big Band . CD.

Definitely, Stu! I was a little surprised to see Jack play the piano as well. And quite well, too ;)

I was kinda dissapointed by Diana, though... I saw her live at a concert a couple years ago and it was terrific. Now, that concert last friday - that's a totally different story, unfortunately. As I said, she was promoting her new album in which she totally changed her style. It wasn't what I expected. It was interesting, but it wasn't thrilling. Also, during the concert, she asked the audience a couple of times what we'd like her to play solo. People started naming tunes, hoping she would actually play them, but she just kept saying "no, not that one", "no, this one won't do", ect. and she ended up playing something she chose herself... What do you make of that?? So, when the concert was over I was more "meh" than anything else. Hope she gets back to the style she had so far, soon.

I've been listening to Keith Jarrett at The Blue Note.
