In regards to Jean-Luc Ponty - no, I'm not obsessed with his music - just an ardent fan of his music. He in no way replaces my clamouring for the artistry of Keith Jarrett.

When someone says you "slay" them it usually means that they are overwhelmed with laughter ergo, laughing themselves silly and senseless.

You have then really tickled their funnybone.

The biscuit is... Well, it's still on my piano along with Schubert's "Unfinished" score, not used. I've been quite busy lately, to tell you the truth. But I'm doing ok, thanks. How about you? Are you prepared for a trip to Copenhagen already? You still have time, though. I was planning to go with my friends to Frankfurt in March to the 'Musikmesse'. But I just can't seem to find free time for this kind of pleasure, damn it. I guess I'll have to reschedule for the next year... I really wanna go...:clap:.

Hi Margaret,

No, of course not. It haven't even crossed my mind. I'd say it is one of his 'most finished symphony' (of course in the most positive meaning), as many music historians stated. Even though it has 'only' two movements, both put in sonata form, there is nothing that could be added to make it better than it already is.

I will always find some time to listen to jazz:grin:, wihtout it my life would be empty. For example, today it was 'European Jazz Trio' and 'Swingle Singers'. I am soon to have some ECM records. It'll be 'Keith Jarrett' (of course) and 'Marcin Wasilewski Trio', I guess. And that is only for now:grin:.

I'm addicted to MIMF so don't worry. Everytime I have access to PC and Internet I log in to catch up with new posts and threads.

Gonzalo Rubalcaba (fender rhodes), Anthony Jackson (el. bass), Mario Parmisano (piano, syntheziser), Gumbi Ortiz (congas, cajone), Alejandro Santos (flutes) and Ernie Adams (drums).

Al Di Meola one of the greatest talents on guitars the jazz world has known of, discovered by Chick Corea in the 1970´s.

Now you´re talking. Realy an awesome album "Friday Night in San Francisco".

I happend to attend the concert at the Falkoner Center in Copenhagen the year after the release of the album. Di Meola, Mclaughlin and De Lucia were cooking, passing the tone from one of them in the middle of a solo, to the next guy to continue, where the first guy left. AWESOME.

Funny thing is, they often played compositions by the brazilian guitarist and composer Egberto Gismonti.

Three guys from England, the US and Spain with each their acoustic guitar sitting on an ordinary easy chair in a half circle. No comparison to anything else of an acoustic performance, I´ve had the pleasure to attend LIVE.

John McLaughlin and The Mahavishnu Orchestra which changed the direction in the international electric Jazz along with Chick Corea & RTF and Weather Report.

The album "Mahavishnu", Wounded Bird Records 1984 feat. JM (guitars), Mitchell Forman (keyboards, synthezisers), Bill Evans (tenor and soprano saxophone), the swede Jonas Hellborg (el. bass) and Billy Cobham (drums).

Billy Cobham born in Panama, the only left member of the original Mahavishnu Orchestra back in 1973.

The album "The Promise", Polydor France 1989 by John McLaughlin is quite another story of this English jazz music composer and equilibrist JM on his various guitars.
