What jazz have you been listening to today?

Johnny Guarnieri (Piano) - I've been meaning to try him for some time. Verdict ? - good but not as good as Hank Jones, Dave Brubeck or Monk.

I've discovered Bill Evans (no, not the pianist) recently. He plays jazz with a bit of fusion. Very interesting music. That, and the fact that he often switches from tenor to soprano. So, that's another decent sopranist in my book. Most of sopranists I know tend to go into avant garde/free jazz. So glad Bill chose more mainstream way. Teddy, you might wanna check him out.

I have a few CD's of Bill Evans quite impressive.

"Bill Evans Trio in Buenos Aires" vol 1, 2 and 3 rec in 1973 and 1979 live at concert. I may have one more waiting to put onto CD

Thanks Mat. Just had a quick listen and read up on Youtube. Playing a very laid back piece which I really enjoyed, although it did not seem to have a title. Certainly worth investing some more time on this man.

Colin, I meant Bill Evans the saxophonist, not the pianist...

Trying out E.S.T. on Spotify and I have his Cd Tuesday Wonderland on loan from my public library - I think I have big Question Mark here.
