George Wallington Quintet ' Live At Cafe Bohemia' with Donald Byrd, Jackie McClean, Paul Chambers and Art Taylor, Mel Torme and George Shearing In Concert, and one long track, (22 minutes) ' Billies Bounce', which I hadn't known about before and just downloaded. The line up is Thad Jones, Eddie Bert, Serge Chaloff, Al Cohn, Zoot Sims, Tony Scott, Lee Konitz, Teddy Charles,Tal Farlow, Charles Mingus, Billy Taylor, Art Blakey. (The Metronome All Stars) Excellent track.

Welcome to the Jazz Forum Stu,

That sounds like a terrific lineup - Can you tell me what the CD is please?

Cheers John

Hi Oldude, Thanks for the welcome. Glad to be here among all you good folks! I downloaded this one track from Amazon from the CD Bebop Story Vol 069 Metronome AllStars 1946-1956. I had all the other material on an other disc but this one was new to me. Recording quality is good and everyone takes a good creative solo. The tension is maintained throughout with no lapses. The track is just over 20 minutes long as opposed to the 22 minutes I mentioned in my previous post.

Hi Stu, I tried to get your ref. on Amazon without any luck.
In the meantime I've been listening to "Art Pepper 100 Masterpieces" on Spotify.
It sounds unbelievable but the 100 track set is available on Amazon for a £3.99 download

John! The Billie's Bounce track! I had trouble finding it again on Amazon, but did eventually. Type in 'Metronome All Stars 1946-1856'. When the track list comes up it is right down at the bottom of the list.

Sorry, John, a mis-type! That should be 1946-1956. (Not 1856, although Buddy Bolden might have been on it then!!!)
