I've been running through my iTunes library in order to form playlists and have been entranced by the wonderful range of music I have collected.
It makes me wonder how many of us return to our collections in this way?
The stars of my collection trip (for me only of course, although I strongly recommend them).

"Never let me go"- Kai Winding
"Old Man Basie" - Dave Brubeck

Dave Brubeck Quartet--Time Further Out
John Coltrane--trane plays the blues
Lee Morgan--Best Of The Blue Note Years
Wayne Shorter--The Blue Note recordings

Uh-oh! I was listening to some jazz last, Mr. George Benson, but with a purpose.
That's right, it could be intimidating, seeing him in 1970 when he was still just playing guitar.
But I have to do "This Masquerade", starting a band. I used to do "Breezin", but that's just instrumental.
This will be my song about loneliness, until I write my own. I hope I never do.

I've been listening to my Playlist of female jazz singers (iTunes).
There is about 30 individual names there but I'm sure I've missed many.
I still rate the following as my favourite top 6:
June Christie
Ella
Anita O'Day
Billie Holiday
Cleo Laine
Dianne Krall

OLDUDE! Have you ever heard of Nikki Yanovsky?
She's a young hottie from St. Catharines, fifteen miles away from me. (Ontario, Canada)
Her promo is using the names of the biggest jazz singers, not my style,
but she did get on a Honduras remix of "Wavin' Flag", a genuine accomplishment.

And if you've never relaxed lying down in the dark,
listening to Jimi Hendrix with studio headphones on,
especially his last studio album, "Electric Ladyland",
you haven't heard the latest and still only modern studio music innovation.
It's one thing to sing about an angel coming down to rescue me,
but it's another to make her wings beat and flutter away off the top of your head.

Can you dig it? I think you can.

Oscar Peterson, Sweet Georgia Brown from CD "The Genius of Oscar Peterson" on Last.fm, does anybody have the CD? I'd like to know the other personnel, particularly the drummer.

Don't think I've ever heard "Georgia" taken at such a breakneck pace.

Ok John,
As indicated in another thread. Yes i have listened to the young lady on Spotify, and she is certainly beautiful, a very useful trait in an up and comer, but the main question is about her ability. I reserve judgement as yet because the sample is pretty limited. So I will return to Spotify and have another listen and get back to you later.

Cheers (another John)

Back again John,

There is only one CD on Spotify with mostly lesser known maerial.
Yes she is good and full of confidence.
However she will not displace any of my top 6 as yet

Cheers John
