Been listening to my new CD "Cannonball Adderley in San Francisco".
I must say I have started to admire his work.

I've been listening to Wayne Shorter: The Blue Note Years: this is a 2 cd collection with great cuts from both his days as a member of the Jazz Messengers and later as a leader of his own groups. Awesome. Has any one else been into this?

ELP and Carl Palmer

 Hi Intet: I just joined this forum and came across your remark about Carl Palmer of ELP. I had the privilege of seeing them at Carnegie Hall when they made their first tour of America in 1970 and I was blown away by both the overall level and reach of their music and the awesome ability of their drummer. Thank you so much for reminding me of that occasion. Like you, I don't know if Palmer could be considered a jazz drummer per se, but hell could he pound those skins! Peace.

Yes, I'm familiar with Bill Evans Trio. I'm a bit surprised that you weren't. Check out his You Must Believe in Spring album. Loved how he arranged the opening theme from M*A*S*H.

Mat and CD you are making me feel like a juvenile idiot lol but I just had not heard him play before I have since d/l another 4 CDs of his. for the past 30 yrs I have been tied up in the classical world with jazz taking a very poor 2nd place but my interest has been re ignited by the posters on this forum so I have some catching up to do.
