That's the beauty of this forum, Colin. We learn something new almost everyday. Just like at school, as Teddy said.

Yup, "boring" would be the last term to describe this place.

Hi all you jazz experts,

Some of you have probably noticed that I have not posted a lot recently.
There is a simple reason - I recently bought an iPod Classic which has storage of 160GB and I am busy transferring my whole jazz library of CDs onto it (A massive task as I have something like 500 jazz cds not to mention all of my Classic pop and classical stuff).Up to now I have synched about 200 CDs so still a long way to go.
Cheers John

Gee John I have enough trouble with 32GB I hope you have a fool proof tag system so that you can find what you are looking for:)

Hi Colin,
I just dont know, really, what the heck I am taking on.

At this moment as I sit here talking to you (that itself is a new concept for those at the Antipides and vice versa - its the teddy water you know), my main thought is "What a wonderful feeling to have at my instantaneous reach all those CDs up in my loft, stored in shoe boxes which I cant be bothered to get the step-ladders out to reach. (Hi, is that a record for sentence length?).
As you say finding them may be a problem.

Please tell me if you can think of a better technique.

I will let everyone know which of the 500 cds i have been listening to at a (much later) date

Cheers John

John, it seems like you need a tagging software, something like EasyTAG or ID3 mass tagger. I haven't used either (as all of my music is already on my HDD) but I think it might help you get your collection in order. Good luck!

I would suggest that you try listening to what you have transferred to date before spending any more time on it. you may find the software that comes with the player is good enough, but as mat said you may need a stand alone tagger lol. I have a Creative ZEN X-Fi that comes with built in tagger but had better not perfect results with media player, best of luck.
160GB is BIG my DVD recorder is only 160

Got Mel Powell "Piano Prodigy" from Amazon in the post, so that is currently playing. Lot of tracks I've not heard before. The CD also includes a Bio, some discography, a small photo gallery and other notes.

I have to admit, and usually prefer the Italian - Sympatico. It better expresses the feeling. And there is nothing I enjoy more than a good feelin! :D:D
