CT64 - I am not against podium tyranny i must say.I am not really interested in a conductor's working ways,i am only interested in the results he gets. Böhm,Klemperer, Reiner and Celibidache, all were podium tyrants but i think all of them superior to Karajan artistically.

Hi RADM CT64,

I believe Louis Robillard has done an organ transcription of the piece. Maybe one can order it from Organ Historical Society.

Cheers,

Sweet Corn - thanks for the link. I have a wonderful CD of Gillou and some Japanese lady playing Symphonic Dances (Rachmaninov) for organ using two consoles, i.e. four hands and four feet. It's terrific, on St. Sulpice, from memory.

Back to the question, I'm stuck on Mendelsohhn's wonderful organ sonatas at the moment. I know why they're not played often: they're just too damned difficult!!
