This is a marvel. Kocsis and Schiff plays this music so I am blowed down from my chair. Disc 2 is with the master himself – we can't stop playing. Again, again
Dear Bela Bartok, Thanks.

BARTOK
Piano Works
Kocsis, Schiff, Bartok
This set of two CDs presents a selection from Bartók’s varied piano oeuvre performed by pianists András Schiff and Zoltán Kocsis and also includes historical recordings by the composer himself.
Schiff and Kocsis play music based on folk music, such as the ‘Three Hungarian folk tunes’ and the well-known ‘Romanian Folkdances’. Bartók plays a selection from the last three volumes of his six-volume ‘Mikrokosmos’. This is a rare opportunity to hear Bartók play his own compositions and the recordings were made in London and New York in 1937 and 1940 respectively.

Thomas Tallis - Spem in Alium - about 6 or seven times. So restful. Then I moved onto a various selection of motets by William Byrd.

HI CT64 - Yes - I agree. Divine is very much the word to describe it. and It is a particulrly restful piece to listen to and meditate to.

In adition, I particularly love music from that era and I grew up hearing it all the time. I think I was exposed to the like of Blow, Purcel, Tallis, Byrd et al virtually daily, and some of the motets and settings I came to know intimately.
