Hawk, I have a tough decision. I can't choose between getting a Mexican
red knee or just a hermit crab. With my allergies to even a little bee sting what
do you think?

Hello Hawk,

With tongue firmly planted in cheek did I post about the 27 orbiting spheres around that *unfortunately* named planet. Well, the IAU did away with Pluto by a vote where many were absent and/or abstained - It was far from a 3/4 majority.................................

Lets see now about the next useless fact:

The Swedish NGO called SIDA is an acronym in France that means AIDS.

The two-foot long bird called a Kea that lives in New Zealand likes to eat the strips of rubber around car windows.

It is my understanding that a Kea will try to bite a chunk off of you if it decides to land on you.

There is an organization in Berkeley, California, whose members gather monthly to discuss and honor the garlic plant. Called "The Lovers of the Stinky Rose," this unusual organization holds an annual garlic festival and publishes a newsletter known as "Garlic Time."

Hello Judy,

You pose a difficult question for me to answer. You may find it helpful to visit a zoo, petstore or someone who has these pets that you're interested in. Spend some time (make several visits) with them and really get to know them before bringing them home. This way YOU can be more sure of what you want plus you will have more knowledge about caring for them AND you will meet people you can call if you should have questions or need help with your new pet.
Hope this helps :)

Ahhh - what we consider vandalism, the bird is just displaying its willfully destructive behaviour.

You're assuming, of course, Sweet Corn, that animals have problem solving and devious minds. This is, according to Christian tradition, simply not true as they don't have souls (don't start me on that).

Anyhow - my experience of animals is that they display every human emotion, so being devious as a parrott is to be expected!!

I digress, back to the topic:

A 'jiffy' is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second.

A Sphygmomanometer measures blood pressure.
A typical lightning bolt is two to four inches wide and two miles long

Back on topic: The peanut is not a nut, it is actually a legume.

My mother use to use arrowroot as a thickener, and when we were ill she would make a milk pudding with it.

Just down the road from where I live is Bletchley Park, where Alan Turing worked during the war, my parents both worked there with him and knew him well. There is now a museum there.

The ant always falls over on it's right side when intoxicated.

Now how many of you are going to watch, just to check that one.
