Swan Lake

My family never used the term "verbal diarrhea" to describe me.
They said I like to hear the sound of my own voice.
But that's not what compelled me to comment in this thread. It's the swans.
And it hasn't stopped.
I was taking off this old parka I bought, getting back to my new apartment,
and I was thinking about teddy and this swan thread, how I got into it.
Now this parka is made by UTEX, one of the first Chinese products sold by Sears in Canada.
I knew that, one of the reasons I bought it.
But yesterday, I looked at the lower labels and it was Swan Brand.
If the coat wasn't so unworn all the original informations would be gone,
so it was interesting to read the rest. And the swan logo looks really good.
Swans can be an invasive species, whatever plumage they wear.
I can easily pass for English, or American, an unfair advantage, but I'm not.
100% Scottish descent.

Joe and I saw Les Trockadero ballet de Monte Carlo last week... a VERY good time. I had seen the trocks onTV about 20 years ago so when I had the chance to see them in person, I pounced on it.

On the way here, I saw the bread crumb lady feeding the birds by the river.
They know her really well, and she was surrounded by Canada Geese, ducks and some seagulls,
maybe even a tern.
She let me stand beside her and I was touching a few myself.
Unfortunately, no swans were involved.

I don't like this ballet, I think it is perfecct for a Circus...Maybe I'll add some deformed people to make it funnier.

I am just giving my opinion..Furthermore, Tchaikovsky didn't like it either...He confessed to Barone von Meck..My Ballets are just for having some money to live...

I had a look on the www and Swan Lake features among the top 5 in most cases, now I am not a ballet lover and can only go on what I read but it does seem to be very popular so it must have something going for it?
What is it in particular that you don't like, the music is fine, the choreography seems ok to me the story is as good as any ballet, do you have something against Swans?? :grin:

Oh I think teddy will be safe he is very matey with SW 
, but I must admit to never going to the Ballet, I will add it to my bucket list, you just can't beat a live performance. I still remember the first concert that I went to, I lived it for weeks and became firmly hooked it is more impressive with classical than jazz just the size and precision, and a live string quartet is just the tops, we are lucky in that my local "chamber" venue has the best acoustics in the country, here I go rambling again:grin:

It's interesting to try the dying swan arm movements in the mirror.
Your arms can look like they're curving by moving your elbow certain ways.
That made me feel balletic.
No swans were involved, but your continued comments have me sticking my neck out.
and.... and.... I'm just not down with eider ducks or seagulls.

I can tell you. The music is the most cheezy I have ever heard...Of course for Daniel Steel lovers or the Moonlight sonata lovers this is fine. Easy and direct music. Different scenes, quite short...like different tunes!
Choreography? I don't like ballet...I like the Rite of spring and Petrushka though...
I LOVE Tchaikovsky's operas...they are terrific!

In my opinion, The swan lake joins a lot of American people who know nothing or almost about classical music.
I am not American!
