Please please send some over here. We have had two bad Winters and a bad Summer in a row and at this rate we will be into Winter again soon.

Fair enough ... we can do a 'weather exchange' via Skype perhaps ...

Well, the grass is cut, the beans are in and the front hedges trimmed. All between the showers. Local air show next week so hopefully we can sit in the garden and watch it for free. Will it be barbeque's or umbrellas? Who knows.

Well it's beginning to look summery in the garden even if the weather hasn't yet caught up

Now that's a very Flori bunda.

Lots more also in bloom or big buds. Wonder when we'll get smelly net. We can tell the hayfever sufferers, they walk on the other side of the road! (dunno why this last one isn't in line with the others!)

Lovely display Mike. We have a couple or rose bushes but our garden is too wild for that sort of of thing at the moment.

Miniature roses! I wish my missus would use those and save my chain saw

They can be lovely but little can beat the oldfashioned tea rose.

On top of the kame delta that formed much of the topography of the Niagara Peninsula,
what is now called Fonthill, there used to be one of Canada's biggest nurseries,
famous for local plant sales and international seed packets.
That's been gone now for a long long time.
Some cherry trees, now looking like a sixty foot tall forest,
are more like big grape trees, clusters of cherries growing all over,
one of my favorite bike-hike treats.
But birds have carried many other seeds around, especially roses,
and it's amazing to see what they grow into growing wild.
Yeah, wild roses, my favorite.
Actually, orange tiger lilies are, growing in huge clumps, lasting a long time.

We planted a clump of Mombricia about fifteen years ago. Now it is everywhere. This is one plant that really spreads but I love it for the colour it gives in late Summer.

Got the leaf blower/vac out to mop up the Magnolia leaves which seem to be everwhere only to find that the mice had chewed a big hole in the bag, right next to the neck. Everything sucked in blows straight back out again. B****y mice. I wish they would go and live in a windmill!!!!!

The runner beans are doing really well this year. Never seen them grow so fast. My wife loves them but I am not so keen. Tomatoes doing OK and French beans coming along well. Must be a bean Summer.

I like runner beans and broad beans but I am not keen on car eating mice just in case you are interested

Its been a wonderful Summer for the Magnolia, which is not only still in bloom but has a lot of buds waiting to flower. Also a bumper year for blackberries which grow throgh our hedge. I can not remember them being so prolific or tasting so juicy. Apple and blackberry crumble with cream, ice cream and custard. My downfall.

We have been told that we have just had the warmest winter on record???? you could have fooled me. We are now just a few days into spring and have been told to expect a severe cold spell, ha whats new. I suppose you feel the cold more as you get older so if there are any young warm cuddly girls out there pop on down here and make my day

And what will Mrs JHC have to say about that? Sounds to me like it could be life threatening! Is your motto "Semper in Excreta" ?

Well, now it is Autumn and I'll submit an early report about berries and mushrooms - WOW!!! What a harvest!!! Gooseberries, Arctic Cloudberries, Blueberries, Cranberries, Strawberries, Blackberries, Raspberries - And then: Chanterelles...I can't live without them. My wife and I have been making jams and jellies everyday for about three weeks!

In all: A Blessed Summer Harvest!!!
