Our yearly supply consists of: Totara, Baytree, Pine all sorts but fast burning, Teatree aka Manuka, Kanuka, Rimu, We use a log burner 'no smoke' also has a wet back for the hot water and will stay in all night if needed, it must be 20 years old minimum had to replace the flu plate twice,

You push the damper in then you pull the damper out and the smoke flies up the chimney just the same "Brummie version" so it could have been flew????

Well Spring has sprung and it's still coldish for the time of year.
This past week I was in Flagstaff (AZ) while my wife was recuperating from a horse riding accident. She fell off a horse and broke 7 ribs ... that was last Tuesday, and we just got home Yesterday (Friday). It was definitely early spring up there with highs in the mid 50's and nights down into the low 30's.
Around home it's been hovering in the mid 70's to mid 80's. Soon enough we will be into triple digits until the fall.

I hope you dear wife makes a speedy recovery. I'm in the UK and the weather has been cool for the time of year. But sunny and warmer today.

Major 'ouch' factor there Kh. :bawl: She's probably lucky not to have done more damage! Many 'get well' thoughts winging their way to her. Hope 'her man' makes a good nurse, remembering to utter sympathetic words at appropriate intervals and pulling out all the stops when necessary. ray:
As for Spring, the garden seems to be re-shaping itself every day, and all the cherry trees, young and old, are just now in full bloom. Even the temperature is improving. :grin:

After a disappointing Summer we are now well and truly into deep Autumn. Our Forsythia which is just outside the back door has finally died (must be fifty years old) and I have cleared the bed ready for replanting. I could not get the stump out but almost killed myself trying. My wife wanted to put the Olive tree there, which has been in a large pot for about five years, but now has changed her mind. Starting to regret that I gave up shooting

The secret with large trees/shrubs is not to let them get out of hand in the first place. Unfortunately that has happened with some of my hedge and they now require major surgery. I have to take three to four feet off some of them. Looking forward to the results, but not the work. At least the Olive wood will make a lovely fire.

I really enjoy gardening chopping down trees, spraying weed killer everywhere, setting bug traps, throwing stuff at the neighbours dog it's such fun
