Hi Intet,

Relax, my dear sir. Here are the tracks you wished for:

Enjoy,

CD :):):):)

Corno Dolce

Thank you for the link to Rhapsody, however a sign showed on my PC screen saying: We´re sorry, since you´re living outside the USA the music from Day Trip is not available for you.

But besides this, thanks and for your anxious remark about my wellbeing, I am relaxed sir.

Now, I at least have the individual song titles. Did you just buy it this week?

Recpectfully,

From the Jack DeJohnette double album with his group Parallel Realities, JazzDoor Records 1993, the opening song "Shadow Dance" 15:30

Jack DeJohnette opening the show and the song with a drums solo, Dave Holland (composer) joining in on the double bass, then Herbie Hancock (piano) and finally Pat Metheny (electric guitar, syntheziser guitar).

Not realy nessesary to say anything else, except AWESOME live album performed by four higly talented individual musicians in contemporary jazz. But put them together on a stage and you´ll feel the hardcore interaction and joy of playing as a band between the four of them, like they´d never done nothing else.

Dear Intet,

Anxious, Moi? Au contraire, mon frere. Remember, there are 12 time zones between us and I'm not always at my computer to be able to answer every query of yours on-the-double, much as I'd want to...

I purchased it last week.

Humbly,

CD :):):)

My friend CD :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Now you´re talking.

On topic:

The late Michael Brecker on his first solo album "Michael Brecker", MCA/GRP Records 1987. The second song on the album "Syzygy", a strange title for a song in a highly speedy velosity.

The musicians: Michael Brecker (tenor saxophone), Pat Metheny (electric guitars, syntheziser guitar), the late Kenny Kirkland (piano, keyboards), Charlie Haden (awesome double bass) and Jack DeJohnette (flying on the cymbals behind the kit).

Now for the funky stuff on this holy peaceful sunday:

If you enjoy FUNK, this would probably be the right album for you, having just enjoyed myself with Michael Brecker this morning. Close all the windows to your neighbours, put the sign saying "Do Not Disturb" outside your main door, turn up the volume for: The Brecker Brothers funky double CD "Collection, volume 1 and 2", BMG Music 1991.

The musicians from different periods of time with the band:

Michael Brecker (tenor saxophone)
Randy Brecker (trumpet, flugelhorn)
David Sanborn (alto saxophone)
Marcus Miller/Neil Jason/Will Lee (el. bass)
Bob Mann/Steve Kahn/Hiram Bullock/Barry Finnerty/Jeff Mironow/David Spinozza (guitars)
Don Grolnick/Doug Riley/George Duke/Mark Gray/Paul Schaeffer (piano, keyboards, synthezisers)
Harvie Mason/Steve Gadd/Steve Bozio/Chris Parker/Richie Morales/Alan Schwartz ( drums)
Ralph McDonald/Sammy Figueroa/Rafael Cruz/Manolo Badrena/Kash Monet (percussion)

Geez, it´s funky!!

The Norwegian Ketil Bjørnstad on his album "Grace - Live at Vossabryg", Universal Music 2001.

Vossabryg is a very strange music festival often reminding us of our history, the old legends and myths in the north. In ancient history we believed in gods like Thor and Odin. There are still people in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland who keep the old traditions alive. All sorts of people from the theater, the arts and the musical stage meet at Vossabryg.

The musicians:

Ketil Bjørnstad (piano), Bendik Hofseth (vocals, saxophones), Anneli Drecker (vocals), Eivind Aarset (guitars), Arild Andersen (double bass), Trilok Gurtu (percussion) and Jan Band (live-sampling).

What a surprice? "Day Trip" by Pat Metheny.

On topic:

The Mahavishnu Orchestra album "Birds of Fire", Columbia Records 1973, remastered by Sony Music 2000.

I particularly enjoy the title song "Birds of Fire" with drummer Billy Cobham to open the song with hitting the huge cymbals using clubs, and then John Mclaughlin freaking out on the electric guitar first thing, dueling with Jerry Goodman on his violin, while Jan Hammer on the keyboards and Rick Laird on the electric bass keep the right time.

As a jazz drummer Billy Cobham, born in Panama, has no comparison. Often standing up using the toms - six of them - and the double kicking drums like a machine gun - like they were casually placed tools for the blacksmith at hios shop to handle. Not many drummers in the history of jazz has played with such distingquished feeling and in such speed covering all the drums, as Billy Cobham.

Is it possible to copy the original The Mahavishnu Orchestra. Well these guys on this double CD, seem to think it´s possible more than 35 years later. The title of the copy album by the band The Mahavishnu Project is "The Return of The Emerald Byond", Cuneiform Records 2007.

They do get close to the real deal The Mahavishnu Orchestra from 1973, but listen to the album yourself and make you´re own judgements. Of course the guitarist Glenn Alexander fall through, not even close to the genius of John McLaughlin. But then, who would have expected otherwise? Nice album though.

The quite unknown musicians, except for Adam Holzman, who has played, performed and recorded with Miles Davis and Michel Petrucciani:

Gregg Bendian (drums, dumbeq), Glenn Alexander (guitars, voice), Rob Thomas (el. baritone violin), Adam Holzman (keyboards), David Johnson (el. bass), Premik Russell Tubbs (saxophones, flute), Katherine Fong/Zack Brock (violins), Nicole Federici (viola), Leigh Stuart (cello) and Maria Neckam (voice)
