After I left the forces in 1957 one of the first few concerts I attended was 'Jazz From Carnegie Hall'. The line ups back then were always filled with heavy duty solo power!!
This one boasted a great line up of - Lee Konitz alto;Zoot Sims tenor; Jay Jay Johnson and Kai Winding trombones; Oscar Pettiford bass; Kenny Clarke drums, and, I still clearly recall being 'demolished' by this amazing pianist-Phineas Newborn jr.

No worries, Stu. If you ask Robin or Lars, I'm sure they'll be happy to move it to the right thread.

I've been listening to a selection of albums by European Jazz Trio.

On Spotify:

Dave Brubeck Quartet--Time Changes. Wonderful album. The more I listen to the artistry and skill manifested by Joe Morello on the skins, the more I am convinced that he was one of the greatest jazz dummers who ever picked up a pair of sticks.
