Today i listened to Carl Herring-Burnt Sienn and it really lifted me up and got me out of depression over the horrible weather in the UK, was encouraged to buy after reading the review on this website http://www.musolife.com/carl-herring.html
A *quick and dirty* answer to your query: Bruckner's 00th symphony was a *study symphony*, ergo, he was *experimenting* with the symphonic form especially after his long *apprenticeship* with his composition teacher. Bruckner's zeroth(O)symphony was never assigned an opus number and became known as *Die Nullte*.
Cheerio,
CD
Just finished listening to Bruckner's 1st by Tintner.
