I put in my latest "Moonlight Sonata" find, a yard sale cassette for fifty cents, and gave it a chance.
Seeing it advertised as new age with the producer being Chakra Studios, gave me a hint.
The strong waves that began were a little loud, and as I reached out to turn down the volume they grew in intensity,
and as I sat back the rhythm of the waves was the same, but they sounded more like big splashes,
as the first notes of Beethoven were heard around the room, sounding majestic, more piano than piano, synthesized.
The quiet washes of chords in the background weren't bad, they just interfered with the desired piano experience.
But then, just when this solo piano piece by Beethoven was coming to a watery end, lots of sloshing around,
washing away, some synthesized violins started, and the piece began again, only orchestrated, a little.
This sounded pretty good, very nice music, even if the tones cried out electronic studio wizardry.
Fortunately, no gulls were recorded and used without their permission.
