Marmite/Vegemite are as Colin says very salty, some sort of yeast extract. If you do find any, start with spreading it very thin until you decide if you love it or hate it.

Just so you are aware Steve crumpet is also slang for an attractive young lady i.e. Thats a nice bit of crumpet.
