well it came here today.. snowed for a number of hours- a wet one with big flakes... so hopefully the trees will not fall under the weight.. was very pretty one to watch: but hope power stays on for us.( have electric heat ). oh well like Judy got my coleman camping stove and a portable propane catalytic heater.. and food so if trees do not fall on the trailer I be o.k. ..( live in the woods here ).. another storm coming on Sun.-Mon too... oh well !!

Here's hoping that you do not loose your electricity Bill. I can't imagine the storms you get.

Yeah, that was quite a dumping of snow experienced by the US east coast. Luckily we have been spared any really nasty winter weather so far. Not much snowfall at all, and relatively mild temps for this time of year.

Of course, that could change at any time...

I just can't wait until spring gets here. I was snowed in for a week and
then some. Last wednesday I thought my face would freeze until I
got into the church building to do my class. I think it was down to 28
degrees that morning. It's been as low as 14 degrees for the last few
weeks.

Easy Winter Here

I probably will wish I never said that - it's not over yet. We finally got about three to four inches of snow yesterday. (thats on top of what was left - about six inches from the last (and only) storm in - early January, I think it was. My frendly backyard raccoons seem to think it's Spring. They have been making regular visits for the last week. The temperature is staying between about 27 to 33F. Check out my blog for their latest antics. http://buchananskeep.blogspot.com/

Thats global warming for you right there, judy :)

As funny as it may sound, all of my harshest winters were ... in the summer. It gets really cold here during the summer season.
During winter however, while it is brisk and chilly - its very very nice and occasionally we are spoiled by a few days of unexpected summer (and by summer here i mean the normal summer, not our summer that I was describing above ;) )

That wind is no joke.

I try and escape it to an extent anyway.

One of the ways in which I'm fortunate is that my friends are pretty well spread out so I have the luxury of getting away from it when I wanna, which if I had to guess totals out to about 4-5 weeks?

I have a friend very near the beach in Ft. Lauderdale so I guess it goes without sayin' that I try to hit her place most often. lol

Oh, I was gonna mention something else about winter...

I wanted to point out that I'd never want to avoid winter entirely for even one season.

There are a number of things special to me about winter.

This is provided I experience those things within a considerably shortened season, as mentioned.

But to save you the list I'll mention only one of my favorites:

1)
2)
3)
4) The clean air
5)
6)
...

Yeah, somewhere around there on my list...

But there's something about the lower temp. that makes the air feel so much cleaner.

I visited with some friends in Cumberland, Maryland some years back and I remember breathing feeling so enjoyable. It was a purity of sorts that opened up my airways and just made me feel a bit more alive.

lol...I know that sounds a bit slap-happy about the experience but it was really rather nice.
