Br. Colin wondered recently about me on this thread...

"Where have the flowers gone?" I'm here but mostly lurking...Besides, I am better at spreading manure...after that, watch the daisies grow:lol::lol::lol:

It seems a bit quite so I thought I would drag up a couple of oldies which I doubt would be allowed to day with all this PC crap.

Well Colin, I have posted some book reviews, but that is all. The end of the Summer has made me feel tardy and I pine for some real heat and cheap wine. Can't even say I have been particularly busy although I have been pottering in the garden. I did speak to Steve (white knight) earlier in the year and he has been very busy, a lot of changes in his life, lucky dog. Also all the things I have been attempting to achieve in the last year have come to nothing, which has caused me to feel jaded. But I'm still here. Thinking of you all.

We have some good cheap wines approx NZ$10-12 from the super markets you just wait for them to come on as specials and then stock up.
Did your railway trip eventuate if so where are the pics we used to go on the steam trips and have many good memories, we are going through a rough time health wise but as you get older it happens, it’s not for the faint of heart this getting old game.

Still here, too ...

Changed church jobs over the summer and just had (today) cataract surgery for the right eye. The left one gets done in a few weeks.

Easy out-patient surgery - fully awake through the entire procedure, some flashes of light, geometric patterns with blue lights. Able to talk to the surgeon (who is also my eye doctor) the entire time - felt nothing at all. Patch over eye until post op visit on Friday.

The summer came and went - besides a trip to Cozumel last June nothing much else happened besides the change in church gigs. Much larger church - much larger organ - more appreciated for music by the congregation and its pastors.

Another member still here! In Chester for a few days and have just had a brilliant hour and a bit playing the organ in Chester Cathedral! They're fund-raising for major refurbishment of the Grand Organ, hence the opportunity ...... not to be missed! Organist Philip Rushforth extremely friendly and welcoming, so if anyone's going to be in the area ........

Full details on Chester Cathedral web site!

Currently having hypodermic needles stuck in my eyeballs to try and save my sight and awaiting cataract surgery. You are right Colin, not much fun around. Reminds me of that record by the WHO, hope I die before I get old. ~Too late.....

I had the hypodermic in the eye for my previous cataract which has put me off having the other done, it didn't hurt, just the sight of it approaching; however one of the residents here had hers done a few weeks back - no hypodermic! So maybe I'll take the chance.

Other bits are now starting to misbehave, enlarged prostate gets me out of bed 3 or 4 times a night, chest is more of a self inflicted thing as a result of smoking 40 a day up until a few years ago, borderline diabetes - blood tests fluctuate either side of said borderline . I think arthritis is starting to make itself known, right shoulder and knee. Memory plays tricks, and me "get up and go" seems to have got up and went, I never put off what I can do until tomorrow, unless I can maybe do it next week ... or next month.
