How's Your Weather?

The trouble with working in an office is that one tends to grade the weather according to the weekends. Bad weekends = bad weather. It is even worse this time of year when you are coming home in the dark. Rained all day and cold at 55 f

It feels downright cold here tonight. It's not that bad though - the thermometer says it's just below freezing. There is about two inches of very wet snow on the ground but that probably won't last. The real problem is the very few hours of daylight. I must keep in mind that the days will start to get longer about the end of next month. I know, I know - it's still a long haul. (Sigh)! Lots of snow and extreme cold yet to come. (shiver).

Totally sweet weather in the southwestern deserts now ... warm days 78-84°, and nights in the mid to low 50's. Nice to be able to open up the house windows once again after the sweltering summer heat.

Eventually, we will get down into the 30's at night ... usually in late January or early February ... that 30 day period is our "winter"

Just be thankful you are not down in this part of the planet, three days after one of the strongest typhoons ever recorded has devastated large parts of the central Philippines, according to the news over 10,000 dead and counting. Was not long ago they had that terrible tsunami.

We are seeing a lot about that on televieion. Aparently not enough aid is getting through and they are short of drinking water, food and shelter. I think the death toll will be very high.

46 F. Cold wet and misty. The evenings and nights are getting very cold. November is usually warmer than this. Global cooling?

Overcast for most of the morning, with temps in the upper thirties. Sun has broken through, but it is still quite nippy outside. Lower temps still predicted for the weekend. Perhaps winter has in fact finally arrived!

I think it's a two dog night. -15C or about 5 above on that other scale. The forecast is stating the low will be about five below with a wind chill thats outta sight. Sky is clear and stars bright. There is only about three inches of snow on the ground here in the hills. I much prefer to complain about the heat. (Grin).

Colder and damper. 44 f and more of the same to come over the next few days. Been looking at the holiday photos to cheer myself up.

44 f overcast but dry. The big storm passed us by and we did not even have the promised high winds in this little corner. 1.00 pm is the deadline for high tide at Sandwich but it looks as if they will not be too affected, judging from last night.

Just been out to pick my daughter up (9.30 PM) and it is 33 f, just one degree above freezing. Roads very cold and slippery with a frost settling.

Cold! At the moment -31C (about 28 below on that other scale). Forecast for tomorrow afternoon says we will probably get up to 30Cm of the white stuff. This is going to be a 'fun' winter I suspect.

Cold wet and windy at the moment with overnight frosts. Luckily we seem to have avoided the worst of the storms and no snow as yet, but there is still plenty of time for that

Finally, at the end of January, we got some snow. It's currently foggy @ -9°C/16°F. It's been chilly like that for the last week or so. I actually gave in and switched from spring to winter jacket just a couple days ago.

Still cold here at around 42 f. Also very wet although we escape the flooding here. A few waterlogged fields is the worst we experience

Hope all is well for all of our UK members. Reading about the flooding along the Thames in our local news, and really concerned how it's impacting those who live in that region or other parts of the UK.
