How's Your Weather?

We had a couple hours of sun since my last report, but today it's back to rain and a thunderstorm. Europe's currently fighting with floods, especially Germany and Hungary. I do hope everything stays calm here. I remember the enormous flood from the summer of 1997 where the water was as high as two meters (that's over 6 ft.). It's been sixteen years already and we had a couple more smaller-scale floods in the meantime, and it's only now that the officials decided to reinforce the leeves. I've had a look at the construction site board and it says the leeves should be ready next year

Another fine sunny day here after a slightly overcast start, may have been some rain overnight, (read some time between midnight and 10am - if I'm in bed it's still nighttime)

Overcast today with intermittent heavy rain; quite muggy, although it's only in the upper sixties, low seventies.

Monsieur teddy

Come to Arizona, teddy ... 108°f and clear skies. That will get you warm again.

We did have our first taste of the Monsoon season on Saturday - Huge lightening/thunderstorm moved in and drenched/flooded streets within minutes and lowered the outdoor temps to 82°f - of course, after the clouds moved out, the temp went right back up to 104°f, and so it got quite muggy.

63f overcast and damp. I read in the papers that we may have Summers like this for the next ten years, due to a shift in the Gulf Stream. In which case I will be taking up permanent residence with Lars.

I was just reading a big newspaper article about the shift in the gulf stream.
And teddy, if you're judging the rainfall just by this new movement of atmospheric components,
don't forget the other effects of global warming, like the rising ocean waters.
It's coming at you from top to bottom.
Time for you to dig up an ancient alien time machine and take us all aback.

The last time we had global warming which raised sea levels was 1215 AD. That flooded the Broads in England.
Air show on today with a return of the Vulcan. So of course it is cold, raining and windy. We will not be sittting in the garden watching the displays. 61 f

I keep telling you Teddy, you're in the wrong place, or you've seriously annoyed him up there, we had quite a pleasant day here again, forecast is OK for tomorrow too, sunny early, followed by "sunny intervals", I'll be off to the National old rose colection at Mottisfont Abbey with the camera.

Margate (and we are not that far away from it) has one of the highest rates of sunshine in the country..........usually. But this year our corner of the country seems to be koping it. The seaside businesses are taking a hammering. Not much rock being sold.
