It's now Thursday night, and I feel like sometime this weekend, I will be coming through.
I haven't played guitar for weeks, so a couple days of warm-up will be nice.
You've been a steady, and inspiring, friend for me. It's something I need to do.
yeah... I can keep saying that to myself...

It's been a busy week at work, John. Sorry for taking too long to answer you. Even in the middle of this craziness I could find some time to write. Ohh writing... It has something magical to it. For sure! I feel like I'm levitating. These two, specifacally, came in with just the lyrics. I'm still figuring out how the song and melody itself will be like. One of them has spiritual thing. I don't usually write song with that in mind but I had to respect the flow. I always try to do so.

I'm glad you're considering yourself back to music. Please, don't ever give up on that! I could feel that music is very special for you as it's to me. Without it I don't know what to do.

Your pictures are awesome. But your paiting is something that I really liked. I'm very visual. I wish I had the skill for paiting.

I almost forgot to tell you. I sent a song for a friend of mine who's living now in Germany. He's going to sing on this one. It's a ballad, acoustic type of song with me featuring on guitar. I'm very excited about it. Let's see how this is going to turn up.

Have a good weekend, my friend!

Wow! alcaponedudu, wow!
When I was asked to put up a video with this cherry Strat,
the first guitar I've had that I can plug in and play in a very long time,
that was about out-of-town musicians wanting to see if I can still play fast,
and still have my all six strings all the time approach to playing, most of the time.
That seemed like a nice use of online, not really trying to push any product or production,
and jamming along with you seemed like a friendly thing to do.

Now that I see you can be recording and using input online, I feel more serious about my playing.
I needed that.
I know I'll just be making a video of me playing along with your video,
not thinking channels or mixing anything, and that's where I'm going to leave it.
I've got my semi-solids to work on and I've got some serious paperwork to do for a couple of things,
what will be dominating my life for the next three or four days.

I've been jamming along to the third season of "Empire" this last few days, my warm-up for you.
That was mostly hip-hop with some trip-hop, with maybe even a little shine-hop on top,
with definitely no Miles Davis doo-bop,
but this season they're getting into what they call "soul music", with a lot more singing.
They have a new actor, female, who I see as Amy Winehouse style.
The rapper who founded the business and built the Empire, got up to do a song at his new casino.
He wore a suit with a tie and was first shown sitting onstage with an acoustic, singing a song.
He then stood up, swung the guitar behind him, and walked into the audience to kiss his wife,
before he walked back up and kept the song going, looking like some old beatnik folk trio player.

My weekend just got better, my friend!

...oh... bad craziness, bad craziness, not my laziness...
no haze... no daze... and it's not a phase of the moon...
raze me or raise me up... any day now, I shall be released.

as always, in wonder and beauty, John Watt

Hello my dear friend. It's great to know that you still think of playing along with my song. That would be awesome but don't worry about nothing. Take your time. You'll know when it's right.

Everythings great around here. Just focusing on writing. Been able to record some demos lately. I've been trying to laid down at least one per week. As I told you before Delicious Grace works as a duo thing. I write the songs and a friend of mine and I record the parts of the songs. You would like to meet him. Nice guy.

Any new paitings, John? I really like your style!

oh... oh... the bad madness and sadness just keeps on kicking when I'm down,
but I'm not as down now that I'm here.
Guess what! I've been going to the public library to read a newspaper or magazine,
mostly about reading them for free and getting out of being alone in my apartment.
A friend got me doing a jig-saw puzzle on a table in a room with the non-fiction novels,
mostly being there at the end of the day and leaving when they close at nine o'clock.
That's been nice, people visiting, strangers sitting with me and staff talking with me.

Three days ago, this big puzzle was almost finished, and when I went in it was all jumbled up.
It was almost finished yesterday, working it with a woman, but it was messed up today.
How low is that?

alcaponedudu... if you knew the effort it's taking to want to put myself out there as a guitarist again,
when there is so much musical action all around me, and I'm talking promoters and out-of-town shows,
getting it together to record with your video is my main musical goal, and a new thing for me.
I never play hard to get, or make late entrances. I'm always there early to warm up and make sure I'm tuned up.
The guitar I built for myself in 1977 that I played until 1995, playing a lot of six-nighters, always riding the tremolo arm,
sometimes didn't go out of tune unless I hit the tuners with something or somebody.

I can be a bad man. These were nice girls, young women, family people, working for a social services agency.
I stopped in and caught them sitting around after lunch, and I like a captive audience.
I was saying I always played guitar and learned how to dance and move around with my guitar strapped on,
but now I'm walking around without it and learned some new dance moves I couldn't do before.
oh yeah... I watched a DVD last night, "Magic Mike XXL", Channing Tatum playing an adult male entertainer.
I'll say one thing, they were watching and got quiet, and no-one laughed.

You are very lucky to have a song-writing or recording partner.
When I think of the musicians I worked with, and what we could have done,
when we didn't do anything except do the gig, get paid and got going.

I was offered $100 off my rent if I cleaned up the rest of the plumbing splatter,
and paint the stairs, which were mostly worn bare wood to begin with. I said no.
I promise. I promise myself and I promise you, before this week is over I'll do it.
Please, I can hear it, and I'm thinking it won't be something that does it for you.

Maybe you could send me a big anaconda scale, like the kind you find swimming in your river.
That would send me around the bend, and curling my fingers around the neck, squeezing tighter and tighter,
would give me more deeper bends.
oh... the life-giving waters that they take for granted, we quietly understand,
and as my love and I float under our rainbow, I'll be taking her by the hand.

Thanks for the painting request. I can do that right now. I have a new one I haven't taken a photo of.
You need two eyes to look at one of my paintings, going for the optical illusion of looking out into a scene,
and this painting is almost three feet wide. Everyone who sees it really likes it, and I've got an explanation.
Imagine if you are walking along the shore on the side of the bay, and turn to the right to look across the water,
where the light of the sun is so bright it dazzles your eyes, and you don't see it as black, painting trees and shrubs blue.
I also show nuclear patterns of orbits in the sky...
as if your eyes are seeing clouds that are left by passing meteors or the sun and moon.
The one thing that some guys have asked about, is this being out on the water on a boat and it's misty,
or is it ice and you're on a ski-doo that's kicking up some snow and leaving a trail.
I can tell you that you can see the waves approaching the shore, and...
I described the view and painted the scenery as real, but it's a zoom view across a bay.
If you look at a map, looking north of Fort Erie, west of Niagara Falls, it's between Point Abino and Sherkston Shores.
I painted the frame white as I was working on the painting, and I was going to tone it down and add some texture,
but so far, this painting is holding its' own.
uh... if you mail me $20 I'll paint a boat with your name on it...

Eduardo! Hey! I learned something here.
My little Sony camera was stolen two weeks ago,
so I'm using a Samsung I bought over two years ago for indoor photography and movies.
I downloaded 127 pages of instructions that are so pale I can't read them without a magnifying glass,
and they only used a third of a page, making me a little angry.
Even though I own a Samsung DVD player I can plug the camera into to edit movies on TV,
I never even tried. Wait a sec, you already know what it's like with me and new technology.

I didn't just use automatic, I pushed "mode" and had seven options for photos, with or without flash.
Of all the different lightings, "sunset" made the biggest difference, and it does something with the painting,
so I'm including this one as part of another posting.

I'm thinking this is an Amazon sky, getting muddy like the river.
You can see how I'm not really focused in the middle,
because the camera is making the edges curve.

alcaponedudu, first, a little backstory.
When I was twelve I saw Little Stevie Wonder on TV, standing there singing and playing harmonica.
I started imitating him right away and my mother bought me a harmonica the next day.
I didn't know the difference between a blues harp and chromatic.
Mom got a big Hohner with reeds on both sides, but I had to sing the notes it didn't have.
Great blues players have tried to get me to bend a note on a harp,
but my big soft lips, that can't work for French Horn, just get in the way.

Here we go.
Something happened today to snap me out of all the musical and social stress I've been going under.
I walked downtown to visit a sign customer who has a huge, three story store across from City Hall.
That's as Main Street as it gets. I'm making antique looking signs for him.
I got there this morning before he opened, and a man came over to me.
He said he knew who I was, and wanted a guitarist like me to come in to see a guitar to appraise it.
It was an old 60's Beatle bass, not woodgrain, but painted red.
This man started telling me about how he used to live his life, dealing drugs from his own house.
This man is older than me, and I was surprised he was getting so personal and showing me around.
He did nice paintings, small for me, and had ten acoustic guitars on a rack in his front room.

I was just talking, and didn't have to say much, until he asked me to play one.
Once I started I didn't stop until the grooves in my fingers hurt too much.
I not only got into riffing and waving the guitar around, I stood up and started moving.
That got me going, so I played and sang "Little Wing", at the end, holding the guitar over my head,
pointing it up to the ceiling, like the angel was flying away.
I haven't felt that good for a long time.
When he asked me what got me into music, I told him about Little Stevie Wonder.
He went over to a desk and gave me a harmonica, with a steel top and bottom,
and an electronic green, almost florescent, see-through plastic middle.
It does everything a harp can do, and it's wider than a blues harp.

When I was waiting for my customer, who was dealing with his customers,
I started singing along with his jazz music, always playing on all three floors.
I've been singing ever since, and all the music I've been hearing since I stopped singing and playing,
is coming out. I'm singing a line and riffing out with it, singing high and low, finding my voice.
That has to be what this is, me finding my voice. Don't forget, I've got a six octave range.
When I'm singing way up there, quietly, it might sound more like a frequency, but it's there.
I'm feeling buoyant and light on my feet. It's about time. I thought my life was over that way.

I'm doing that strolling troubadour gig this Sunday for sure.
Locals are using the park in front of the City Hall stage as a protest,
having their own acoustic concert, and I'm getting invited.
And I'll keep my promise to you and myself.

Oh! I'm doing a clarification, alcaponedudu.

I used to sing in the choir for the church my parents were founding members of,
and sang songs in different bands, and sang lead in just one bar band guitar trio.
I used to have a voice, but that ended when I stopped in my forties.
I have a new voice, if I have to describe it that way.

The man with the guitars came down when I was talking with my customer,
saying he was very impressed that I played so much guitar for him,
giving him such a big lesson, saying I played for half an hour.
My customer started laughing, saying I can't get him to play for me and I want to pay.
I said c'mon now, we're big boys, how about telling him what you think about my playing.
Some people think I'm still the best guitarist they ever jammed with.
He turned and looked and said John surprised me.
I thought he was too happy, but when he played it all came out.
He really liked my flamenco imitation. I coulda stomped harder.

That's why, for sure, I'll be doing the strolling troubadour gig,
and once I get strolling, sauntering for me, I'll start wandering,
and when I start wandering who knows where I'll be.
I could wait a thousand years now.

alcaponedudu! I am getting better after being poisoned to be so tired all the time.
I was busy all day yesterday, yes... police coming to take a new complaint...
going downtown for a very nice lunch, working on a sign at the artisan furniture store,
and being busy at the buy and sell store where my apartment is.
My friend has a new electronics partner, and he'll be back this afternoon.
A couple of young women adjusted my camera at the concert so I could do some videos,
and I can't change it back to photos or make the videos work by myself.
He's going to do that.
I was so tired after my friend left at 5:30,
I laid down and decided to watch a TV episode to take a break.
I got a pop and watched it to the end, and without having supper,
I fell asleep and woke up at 6:30 in the morning, feeling like a ball of fire.
You might think of that as a fast, everlasting wave that's washing up on your shore...
if you want to...

The camera case and all my rechargeable batteries for the Canon, what was my video camera,
and bike-hike camera, were stolen over a week ago and I haven't been able to get more.
When I brought out the little Sony to take its place, that was stolen within two weeks.
I tried to sell this Samsung and the DVD player you can use to edit movies on TV,
but now I'm happy to have it.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T., I want you... to have that for me,
with a little "Who's Zooming Who" on the side.

alcaponedudu, and everyone else unfortunate enough to spend seven minutes listening to this,
here's a link to a YouTube video I just uploaded. Please, it's not me playing with your video.
However, this is proof that I'm getting there, and if it wasn't 11:58 right now I might do it.

I did the strolling troubadour gig this afternoon and really got right into it, getting me going.
I had a few fast and slow songs in Am, so I could use open chords, open strings and barre chords,
changing my fingers up so I could keep playing with hurting them too much.
This is the first time I've played guitar in a few weeks. You know that.

A drummer/guitarist from St. Catharines and a local singer-songwriter, acoustic/electric guitarist,
asked me to make a video to show chords you can only play up-side down,
and show how fast I can play.
I have this little 7 watt amp up too loud, but you can hear it in the video.
My playing is sloppy with super distortion, I try to sing high notes without drinking warm water,
or warming up... and I break up the sound stepping on the wire.
I pulled the amp off the table the first time, using my short troubadour chord.

I was singing songs and making up words for whoever was there.
I got a request for Led Zep, and that stopped me for a sec.

you need sanding babe, and I'm not talking stripper.
I'm getting deep in your grain, until the lacquer is dripping.
way, way, deep in your drawers, where the sanding is rough,
I'm gonna give you the belt sander... oh... I'm giving you the belt sander,
I'm really gonna give you the belt sander... oh... that's a whole lotta paint,
that's a lot of acrylic paint... I'm going to roll on you,
you're going to feel my roller... oh.. that's a whole lotta wood, that's some really big wood...

and then I wiped my strings up and down the pole for the parking meter,
and did a feedback distortion solo.
I end this video with one of Jimi Pages' first and most iconic riffs,
only instead of hitting the last note as hitting the last note where the fret is,
I'm bending up to it from way down...

This is not tasteful, I'm rushing it, and I'm not using any effects outside the amp.
At least, when I held the last note at the end,
I was able to turn off the camera without looking at me reaching for it.
You should hear me with a wah-wah pedal and a Fuzz Face. I hafta say that.

When the drummer and guitarist and you say you've seen it,
I'll delete it.

At the store I stayed in Am.
I riffed lyrics off "Something in the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins,
with the same chords for "Wrapped Around Your Finger" by the Police,
"Harden Your Heart" by Quarterflash, doing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow",
being all that I can be.

standing on the corner, looking in the store,
I didn't know that there was three floors,
that hutch over there looks like it would fit.
darling, in your grandmothers' dreams,
she would like this nice antique...
so it's time you got your purse open,
you're going to spend all your money,
you might go for some debit,
I'm going to turn and sing to this lady here....

You might wonder about me being a musical aberration,
jamming lyrics and guitar spontaneously like a song,
but look at this photo of a "Toronto band" that the City hired for a concert,
yeah... free music for the people of Welland... saying jazz-funk...
The singer and sax player were from Columbia. They had a French Horn player,
the drummer had the most basic kit you could have,
and... and... oh... and... the bass player played a tuba.
They did Earth, Wind and Fire, James Brown, some Toronto funk songs,
but they weren't a funk or rock or jazz band, and only the singer sang.
When they walked offstage it was very quiet, just what others were saying.
Here's a photo.

You can't see me, playing in the dark tonight.
No, you can't see me, playing in the dark tonight.
I remember, I remember feeling sorry sorry sorry that I ever did,
make a video, where I was singing and playing guitar online.
Do you remember, do you remember, when I only used a real Strat and a Marshall stack.
I can feel it, playing in the dark tonight
I can hear it, watching it on YouTube tonight...

alcaponedudu! I got it together with this other camera after my first one was stolen,
getting the battery charger going with new batteries,
and finally broke the barrier about recording myself as a video.
It can only get better.
I won't have the amp up so loud for you, getting better tone.

I'm up and going to keep working on a big sign downtown.
I'll be doing my fried piper routine, carrying the guitar and amp.
Despite the large size of the font and the antique style,
I'm waiting to see yours and what you have to say.

I didn't know I was a shredder.
Maybe I should add a seventh, lower bass string to my guitars.
And where was that blues influence of mine?
I felt so sad after I saw Jimi Hendrix,
knowing I couldn't afford all his equipment and employees.

Hello John. How are you, my friend?

I can see you've been doing a lot lately. That's so cool. I'm very pleased that you're getting your playing back together. I'm watching your video right now! I must confess that it's a thrill already!

Thank you for the pic of your paiting. Nice one!

Even though you played just a little bit that was good enough for me, John. Please make more of those, sir! You seemed very comfortable while doing it. I'm not sure if I would be.

I'm off now to record some music. Sorry to make this answer in a rush. But today I had so much going on at work. It was crazy! But that's it for now. 18:20 local time. Time to get out!!

Take care, my friend. I'll be back.

alcaponedudu! I'm glad my bad attempt at shorebird and marine mammal sounds didn't spook you.
The new bus station downtown has a high ceiling with a center point, where my voice sounds best,
having a bell-like quality. It's better if I'm facing a wall about three feet away.

It's nice how you can say I'm off now to record some music.
I'm in for the rest of the day and I'm going to try your video.
It might take a while to find something that I feel is worth showing you.

Now local police, despite evidence and witnesses, say they can't help me.
They gave me information for the "Office of the Independent Police Review Director",
in Toronto, and say I should complain to them.

I can't say I'll be back because I'm not going anywhere.
I think I'll adjust my bridge pieces for a while.

It didn't spook at all, John. We're in a creative ''ambient'' as I like to call this forum. So feel free to show us your art.

Nice one on trying my video. That's so exciting for me. You don't how much!

Those criminals insist to pick on you? What the hell is that? You should complain to whoever is resposible for your security. It really bothers me when you say those things keep happening. You seem to be such a nice person.

Yesterday my friend and I laid down the backing track of a new song of mine. Hard rock type of song, loud guitars that goes into a more calm situation at the end of it. It has become a kind of signature of mine: the extremes. I'm really proud of particularly. Hope you will hear it soon.

alcaponedudu! That's how I felt listening to your video, you went from a beginning to an extreme change-up.
I like the second section the best, for the playing mostly, but also because it's instrumental,
so I can cut loose without going over your vocals.
It's 1:30 at night, and I just finished sending an important email. Here's where I'm at,
and yes, I am a nice person, always wanting to have a good time.

I went to the police station Monday morning, and they said they couldn't help me.
They wanted to help me, but they couldn't.
That's because the criminals in City Hall can tell them to leave me alone.
They gave me a toll-free number for an independent police oversight in Toronto,
and when I called they said "I could have free accommodations for my own safety".
I went back today and the sergeant I've been giving evidence packages to wasn't there,
and another sergeant, the desk sergeant tomorrow, will be there to talk with.

I like your word, ambient. I say ambience as far as music and atmosphere goes,
even if I don't say it very often. Now I can say I'm being ambient.

With so much to think about, and being very sensitive to my situation,
I decided to go to the library to work on a jig-saw puzzle, and escape the heat and high humidity.
That worked out. I missed a huge thunderstorm, fun to watch through the big upper story windows,
and a former city councilor came in and was very friendly, when I was an opponent in one election.
I said a long story about him and the street he lived on that made the audience burst out in laughter.
He leaned forward and turned his head to stare at me for a long time.
Another candidate said into his mike it looks like he's been blown out of the race.
Because he was being friendly, and he's at least four inches taller than my six feet, and big,
I told him about how my brother was murdered and what they did with his body.
He had a very sad look in his eyes.

A sign customer came in and asked me about making a new sign for him, double-sided.
He sat with me for a while, and asked me to visit him for a game of pool sometime.
Now don't get me wrong, alcaponedudu, pool is pool and music is music, but,
I really don't know if I'm a better guitar player or pool player.
Don't forget, even Phil Collins sang "a lot can happen during a game of pool".
My father bought a pool table when I was... uh... ten maybe...
I would rack up the balls and break them and sink them until I missed,
and then I would start over again. I got up to over thirty sometimes.

When I was on the road in bands, hanging out at a pool hall could be the wrong thing to do,
being the guitar player in the band, wearing my stage clothes, so I wasn't playing there.
Most bars with bands opened at 11 or 12:00, or maybe 4:00 if there was a restaurant,
and I always got the owner or bartender to open up the pool table so I could bang the balls around.
Last year, when I was homeless, a bar owner let me play with all the balls for free.
I was getting hot and told him to watch this.
I shot the length of the table and made a three ball combination.
I shot back the length of the table for another three baller,
and then shot it back down for a third. I left it at that.

This owner has a private gym in the basement, and he said if I'm showing off,
he'll show off, and he went and jumped up at least three feet on a ledge by the front window.
I thought that was amazing, since he was over forty.

In the video, I played the Allman Brothers riffs too low, they should have been up in E or D.
I should have run through "Little Wing" before I tried it, missing a few things,
and I was rushing it. My voice sounds speedy or too urgent urgent urgent urgent,
you'll have to wait and see.. how urgent, my playing can be.

I still haven't had a mosquito buzz me or land on me.
During the non-jazz-funk concert by the canal, in the evening, as it got dark,
I was asking people about that, and everyone agreed they didn't see one mosquito.
No mosquitoes, no bees, no frogs, birds coming into the city to eat bugs from car radiators,
I'm going to have to treat myself and drink some water from wild tiger-lilies.
Hose...er... rose water, just isn't good enough.

I heard that the last time you and your friend went up into the mountains,
for some high altitude song-writing, a hummingbird dropped nectar on your lips.

You Brazilian musicians are too easy.
I heard you went into a convenience store and bought something for twenty centavos.
After he took your real and started to walk away, you said where's my change.
He said change comes from within, and you left, happy with that.

oooooooo!

Hahahah You're funny, John! I was having a real laugh when I read you said ''centavos''. You always suprise me.

Sad to know about that you're still having trouble with merciless people.

I didn't know you were such a good pool player. I like to play too. Nowadays I only get to play online and not very often. Don't have a pool table near me.

Let me ask you something as you have been here longer than me (don't know if you've got the answer though): Is it normal for a thread to have like two thousand views and only to persons participating? Sometimes I feel odd about that.

Oh... alcaponedudu... I thought you liked extremes, and yes, this is just you and me.
Now, there can be many explanations for this.
Many German people might be looking to see if you mention any relatives who moved there after WW11.
North American women on vacation who were impregnated by a Brazilian on the beach, could also be looking.
Local friends might look to see if I'm getting any really nice Brazilian recipes from you.
A Brazilian band in North America could feel homesick and be reading every word you type.
People who are waiting for me to start playing my semi-solid-body in public,
could be seeing this and worry that I'll go to visit you and have my press release party in Brazil.
yeah... somehow typing press release party in Brazil just feels so much better.

The assistant to a Superior Court Judge in the Welland court house,
would not accept my application for a judge to instruct City Hall to let me be a candidate.
I am acting under the advisement of The Department of Municipal Affairs in Toronto.
She not only did that, she said there were forms but she wouldn't give them to me.
She wouldn't sign my receipt for receiving or not receiving.
Just asking about that,
she called the police to take me away, saying I was causing a scene.
We were the only two people there.
I just got off the phone with an executive assistant for a Superior Court judge in St. Catharines.
She wants to help me and explained I would have to be in court before a judge,
coming to St. Catharines, after online and mailings have been completed.

I was playing my cherry Strat this morning...

yeah... saying I was playing my cherry Strat this morning was my big lead-in for last night.
I typed that after I came back early, to make a meal, play guitar and try to record.
I'm not complaining about this, but I fell asleep instead and woke up now, after six in the morning.

My apartment isn't insulated on the roof. At night, I can hear the dog walking on the floor.
There's no way I'm going to give anyone a reason to complain about me.
After five, when the buy and sell store closes, trying to make some money for myself,
I'm going for a walkabout and get a loaf of bread, being all set up for different sandwiches.
After that, maybe as the sun goes down, I'll come back early to play and record.
Now that I've got that full blast video out there, as bad as it is,
I'm really motivated to get some real playing out there.

My strolling troubadour boss said he loved my guitar playing,
and everyone was saying I wasn't just playing guitar, I was very entertaining.
I wore my cherry Strat today, strumming away without the amp.
When he said that I started playing the chords to "I Was Made To Love Her", by Stevie Wonder.
"Carm is such a sweet-heart, his eyes look just like pop-tarts, hey hey hey.
He was made to refinish, all this furniture around him, hey hey hey"

now... alcaponedudu, I'm seeing you liking AC/DC in my favorite Australian bands.
You need a Stevie Wonder influence, and he's got songs you can jam out in the middle.
I Was Made To Love Her is a nice one, a good four chord progression.
I was in Gm, moving up to a D# formation, and then up to Cm and Dm.
A big part of this song is pumping it out in Gm after a while and jamming out vocals,
getting hot and heavy, maybe down on your knees, pounding on the floor.
that's about saying you love your baby, you have your destiny, I love my baby I love my baby,
and the song is about your parents saying your girlfriend is too young.
My favorite line is "I was made to love her, in a world lost without her, hey hey hey".

AC/DC always made such a big deal about the band being family, staying together.
When the first singer left, I was surprised they hired someone who imitated him.
I never was a big fan, hearing "Hells' Bells" ringing in my head too many times,
and hearing the new singer imitating the old one made his vocal mannerisms too much for me.
My favorite video moment is when they were playing on top of a clear plastic stage,
and looking up and following the guitarist as he did his step-strut across the stage was impressive.

The daughter of a Dunnville music store owner managed a new store he set up in Welland.
I went in as a sign-painter, and she knew some musician friends of mine.
She was acting up around me, but I didn't act up back at her, not asking her out.
It's nothing that bad, but right away I knew I wasn't interested.
She asked me to paint one side of her two-story house, an old home by the canal.
She said she had to go to the store for the day, and did I mind if she locked me out.
I didn't care. She put "Hells' Bells" on a record player and left the window open,
so it repeated all day.
I don't know if you've ever done that, but when the record ends it sounds like it's really ending,
and then you hear the hells bells and it starts all over again.
For some reason, I put Foreigner in the same category.
Foreigner isn't a simple hard rock band, having keyboards and doing slow songs,
but I can imagine AC/DC doing "Jukebox Hero" and "Cold as Ice", songs like that.
I was jamming out "Cold as Ice" in a music store one day, and the next day,
a new band of younger musicians phoned me up and asked me to teach it to them.
All I said was if I come over will there be some pop and home-made cookies for me.

young and tanned and over-educated, the girl from Ipanema can't find work,
and when she shows her degrees, they say we can't pay.
oh... they all wonder does she do part time...
oh... she gives them a raise on her own dime...
and when the offer is manual labour,
she gets down on her knees to work there...
young and tanned and not so employable, the girl from Ipanema smiles at me,
and as she walks by I ask do you play bass.
we need upright bass...
flute solo with the wind from the mountains

Hello John. Lovely saturday morning here in Brazil. I always manage to get a good feeling on saturdays especially. Maybe that's due to not having to work the other day or something. But anyway it's nice here.

Yes, ACDC is my favourite Australian band. Actually is one of favourites in any category you put it. The last run they did around the world, I don't if you heard about it, was with Axl Rose as the lead singer. How cool is that? You know I'm a big Guns N' Roses fan.

There's some talking going over the internet that Brian Johnson is getting back together with ACDC for another album. Let's wait and see what wil happen.

Planning on finish another song. This one is going to be punk rock all the way through. The whole song is alreay in my head with lyrics and everything. I just need to sit down, grab my guitar and a piece of paper. That's surreal and magic. I'm bringing something to the world that nobody has ever heard of. It's like a virgin land, John.

Have a good weekend!
