The trouble is she can only speak to us from her library, as she has no computer at home. I hope that Judy is alright, but I expect she will pop up soon.

We'll, she was definately more communicative while cold. Maybe she is suffering from withrawel symptoms:D.

En natuurlik praat ek Afrikaans!!

A pitty, but if you had more exposure to Afrikaans I'm sure you'll understand it easily, most of our words are derived from European languages. Your sentence is close enough, just drop the "t" in "niet" and nobody will know you don't speak Afrikaans.

Sorry guys! I was stuck in winter weather this time with ice! I haven't
been able to get to a computer for a while. Since the thaw finally happened,
I finally got to go to the library today. Sorry for the wait. I think I will
be getting another computer soon. I have one on layaway waiting for the
final $200 to pay for this laptop. I also hope to have the net on it some
day so that I can talk to you guys at home.

Hello Judy,

You haven't done anything wrong. We are all here:). Both Krummhorn and Corno
are active members of this forum;). I'm looking forward to see your posts.

Yours respectfully,
Mat

P.S I hope that you will soon have an opportunity to play the pipe organ.
I can only imagine how much you miss it.

Hi Ms. Judy,

I'm not ignoring you - sorry if you feel it that way. I'm very busy these days with providing music for Church services, Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms, and Confirmations. And then all the practising of repertoire.......Yes my dear, life is happening - both to me and you.

I sincerely hope that you'll be able to play the organ again since it is such a grand instrument.

Cheers,

CD :):):):):):):)

Hi Judy,

It's cool ... you've not done anything wrong, peeps were just concerned about ya, that's all. As for me, I took the last few days off - I got a sub for Sunday and my gal had a 3 day weekend, so we packed the bags and spent a few days away from the internet & mobile phones, basking in the sun and relaxing at a posh resort a few miles out of town.

Being an organist, like Corno Dolce, and all the rest of the church organists here, Lent is a very busy time for us ... we all have have extra services now during the week, and with Easter being v-e-r-y early this year, extra rehearsals for special music have been an ongoing thing for several weeks, too.

So, we are here ... and glad that you can get here when you can, Judy.

I know what you guys are talking about I can get busy with church having
what they call Wednesday night live, taking guitar lessons, helping out with
bulletins, being involved with Ash Wednesday up to Easter. Remember that
I happen to be the methodist girl. This is the first time to witness all of
this lent stuff of a methodist. I think I know why I don't get to play the
organ. They have moved the prayer room above the pipes in a room where
if I were to play the organ I might interupt something. I myself don't like
to be interupted while I'm praying. I am on the other enjoying my new
guitar that the church got me for Christmas and learning how to play certain
songs on it. Even though I all ready know how to play the guitar. I learned
how back in the seventies. Methods have really changed on learning the
guitar. I remember when you had to learn how to tune your guitar by ear.
Now they want you to use a electronic tuner. What a bother! I can play
Jesu Joy of man's desire on the guitar. I love it!

Judy - I remember you said you prayed through music, to the big boy of music (God). I loved that comment, showed such insight.

May the universe bless you, Miss Judy.

Being busy with church stuff and practising are valid reasons for ignoring your work as a contributor to this forum. Nothing else will be accepted. I'm just sad that you can't play the organ any more. Won't the church give you a key so you can practice while nobody else is there? I was lucky in that respect, the organist arraned a key for me so I could practice whenever I wan't without disrupting the normal church procedings.

It would be very dumb for me to call up the preacher so that I can go
inside of the church to practice the organ. I'm enjoying the guitar
right now. Bach sounds great on my new Estaban!:lol: I will be gone a
few more days after tonight. I will be at home away from this winter
storm coming after 12:00 tonight.

Hi Ms. Judy,

Try writing a letter(maybe with the help of a friend)asking for permission to have a key so that you can access the organ when the church is normally closed. The letter should be addressed to the Priest with a copy going to the Church Council so that they can discuss it at their Council Meeting. Don't give up my dear on ever accessing the organ. That's not fair for you.

Cheers,

Hmmm, tricky situation. I'm with Sweet Corn on this one, too. Also - your church can't be the only one with a pipe organ in your little town, surely?

Or for that matter, any full size organ would do ... electronic or digital ... it's the fingering and keyboard workout that is paramount to what the instrument looks or sounds like.
Even a music store might be of help ... anything to keep those fingers nimble, ya know.

Master Krummhorn :tiphat:

Likewise dear friend.

Quote: As for me, I took the last few days off - I got a sub for Sunday and my gal had a 3 day weekend, so we packed the bags and spent a few days away from the internet & mobile phones, basking in the sun and relaxing at a posh resort a few miles out of town".

Well earned dear sir. Amasing isn´t it to rediscover the world is still out there far from the internet and every technical device. I did excactly the same as you Master Krummhorn monday to wednesday though for different reasons, to get the inside basin refilled with new inspirations, invited by this old female flame of mine, a professional painter and master of clay of God´s nature. You wouldn´t believe it.

I spend 3 days in a summer house up north close to Skagen some 10 kilometres south of the most northern city of Denmark almost at the seashore. Lots of food, drink, candy brought by car, warm clothing, my Wellington boots. No telly, no cell phones, no newspapers, no radio and best of all no internet. Instead heavy winds in the sandy dunes, and on the beach all alone with nature, the waves outside rolling in from the northern sea, while someone preparing the open fire in her summer house. Walking in the paradise of God every day. A bit difficult with my cain, but if you need to be there, you take the sour with the sweet. Wouldn´t be without it.

For the first time in five years this beautiful woman, completely had me to forget my appointment at the hospital last monday, where I go every second month for testing on my brain ability in certain tests, with spontanious questions to be answered. One of these typical stupid deals of mine I made with the "brainies", scientific researchers, five years ago, when things were tough.

Reboosted and refilled.

I'm suprised that you guys didn't bother with this thread,"Where's Methodist
girl?". I missed you guys the last few days while I was stuck at home in
the ice and snow. Transformers were popping and lights were out for a
while. I was lucky that my neck of the woods wasn't touched by the big
ice blackout. This weather has been rough!
