Leonard Bernstein's Young People's Concerts: What is Sonata Form?

Great programme. Bernstein explains everything to 'average' people, using clear, simple language. It's a must see.

Damn I thought I'd recorded most of those from Fox's Ovation channel, must have missed the Sonata Form one which I'd dearly love to have. Amazing how something from the 1960s is still perfectly usable in today's classroom. I've already used the "What is melody" and "What is orchestration" programmes several times over. Such a formidable talent was Lenny.

Judy - I remember ABBA a little too well

Currently listening to: Saint-Saens Cello Concerto

J. J. Cale & Eric Clapton on the album "The Road To Escondido", by Reprise Records/Warner Music 2005.

When J. J. Cale composed the song "After Midnight" back in the 1970´s, he could not make any radiostation to play the song. But when Eric Clapton visited his mentor of the guitar J. J. Cale, post EC´s one year long rehabilitation in the Carabian from being an addicted drugs user and post the album "461 Ocean Boulevard", he asked J. J. Cale, if he could use this song "After Midnight" and Cale´s composition "Cocaine" on a future album.

Both of these songs composed by the genius, however the very modest and humble J. J. Cale from Oklahoma, made gloryfying status on every radiostation in the USA, and in Europe as well and made Eric Clapton a fortune.

The English super rock group Blind Faith, which followed the end of The Cream, on the double album with the same name, Polydor Records 1969, remastered 2001.

The musicians on CD 1:

Eric Clapton - guitars
Steve Winwood - lead vocals, organ, piano, ac. guitar, el. bass
Rick Gretch - el. bass, violin
Ginger Baker - drums, percussion

CD 2:

Same musicians. Replace Rick Gretch with Guy Warner - percussion

Music from the time in my life where my hair was very long - hippie like.
