Finally my search and order for the polish vocalist Anne Maria Jopek payed of, though not excactly the one album with Pat Metheny and Ms. Jopek I ordered, but in stead I have just received from the danish postel service on specially delivery in the afternoon, not listened to yet though, the two albums:

"Secret" recorded by Universal Music, Polska 2005 - that you have mentioned earlier.

The second album the latest from Anna Maria Jopek:

"Id", recorded March 2006 - March 2007 by severel different studios, but mastered and remixed at the Abbey Road Studios, London, England 2007 on behalf of AMJMusic and Universal Music, Polska released 2008.

I´ll get back to you as soon as I have had the chance to listen to both of them with a lot of - new to me - polish musicians, but also internationally well known musicians, like Oscar Castro Neves. I just mentioned him above with Eliane Elias, and musicians like Branford Marsalis, Manu Katche, Christian McBride, Mino Cinelu etc. etc.

On the latest album added up with an entire orchestra called Sinfonia Viva Orchestra, of course with a polish oboist = Lukasz Dzikowski??? The conductor Tomasz Radziwonowicz???

Do you know of any of these gentlemen mentioned above, perhaps even the orchestra???

And the weather... Actually, it is not okay. It changed suddenly from summer to fall, about a week ago. Now days are cloudy, sun disappeared and the top temperature is 15°C.

Just heard MC Solaar with "Nouveau Western". Damn that's good.
I have never been too keen on french music as I like to be able to understand the lyrics. I guess I just have to learn french now.

I became a bit surpriced when you guys talked of MC Solaar. I did not know of him at all from jazz. I figured somehow you might have talked of another french pianist going on 80 years of age, Mr. Martial Solal.

Could any of you, please give me some more info on MC Solaar, knowing it´s not the same person as Martial Solar, with links in english.

Though I have been to France many times and love the country and the people, I can´t speak french. I love all the french food, except not all that happy with eating frogs, though prepared by a real french Cheff, it´s not at all that bad. But then shark and octopussy not that bad either, if you can exclude the picture of a GREAT WHITE and this weird looking octopussy, from your mind.

Octopussies always remind me of the old american movie Traveling the world under the surface of the sea. Was it Jules Verne, who wrote the book? Never mind.

Any info and links to MC Solaar will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I thought of it yesterday, since we do have some very good international well respected jazz musicians in Scandinavia, some of them unfortunately not alive anymore like the great Viking on the double bass, equals Niels Henning Ørsted Pedersen, used to be called Nils Pedersen and for short NHØP when recruted by the late Canadian pianist Oscar Peterson in Denmark on a 10 years contract recording, traveling and performing with Oscar in any of his trios or the BIG 4, BIG 5 and BIG 6 bands.

GOOD MORNING guys on this cloudy cold Saturday morning.

First suggestion Eliane Elias on her album "Fantasia", by SomethinElse Records 1992 - playing the piano and singing typical compositions from Brazil. For instance "The Girl From Ipanema" and "Wave", both songs by that famous composer and guitarist Antonio Carlos Jobim.

But also on this record two different medleys of songs. 1. medley of 3 songs by another Brazilian fame the guitarist, composer and vocalist Milton Nascimento, who made an album some 25 years ago with American Wayne Shorter entitled "Native Dancer". 2. medley Ivan Lins with the man himself singing 4 of his most famous tunes.

Having just spent 90 minutes making a list with references to individuals, groups and record labels for you personally on Scandinavian top-of-the-pops jazz musicians, beginning with Norway, then Sweden, Finland arriving to Denmark to Alex Riel (drums) and suddenly everything of my hardcore Saturday morning typing disappeared from the screen, before I could do anything at all.

Shouting the most profane illmanered words in my extended danish vocabulary at this typical rebelious PC of mine, thinking seriously of throwing it out the window (had I been able to lift the damn thing) I give up for today.

Sorry sunwaiter, I just have to wait. Perhaps the teaching here is, do not do this on a Saturday morning???

My offer for you, another Eliane Elias album "Around The City", recorded by RCA Victor Records 2006.

Contrary to the other four new albums by Eliane Alias, at least on my CD shelves, she plays many other keys than just piano on this album.
