One of my top favourite trumpet and flugelhorn players Woody Shaw, joins in with the Joe Henderson Band on his 8 CD collection album "The Milestone Years", by Milestone Records 1994.

The musicians on CD 3:

Joe Henderson - tenor saxophone
Woody Shaw - trumpet and flugelhorn
George Cables - el. piano
Rom McClure - double bass
Lenny White - drums
Tony Waters - percussion

Really awesome album. Especially the song "Round Midnight" Joe and Woody at the peak of each their career.

The Pat Metheny Trio on "Question & Answer", by Geffen Records 1990.

Awesome album, with two musicians who are at least fifthteen years older than Pat Metheny, both of them former musicians with Miles Davis around 1970.

The musicians are:

PM - guitars
Dave Holland - double bass
Roy Haynes - drums

Check out the first song "Solar" and number 7 song "All The Things You Are".

The former jazz group Weather Report on their album "Night Passage", Columbia Records 1980.

The last studio album the legend Jaco Pastorius recorded with WR. Unfortunately his drugs abuse, mixed with heavy alcohol abuse, stardom and the temper of a wild wounded tiger meant he got himself killed in a bar fight.

The musicians:

Joe Zawinul - piano, keyboards, Prophet 5, Korg synthezisers
Wayne Shorter - tenor and soprano saxophone
Jaco Pastorius - el. bass, el. fretless bass
Peter Erskine - drums
Robert Thomas - percussion

Not the very best album by WR, but even so it´s good to be reminded of this great long gone jazz group, which with Chick Corea and RTF changed jazz to be electric in the beginning of the 1970´s.

One of the earlier Keith Jarrett albums "Expectations". The double album recorded by Impulse Records 1971, remastered for CD´s by Sony Records 1995.

The musicians:

Keith Jarrett - piano, soprano saxophone, Osi drums and percussion
Dewey Redman - tenor saxophone, Chinese musette and percussion
Sam Brown - el. guitar
Charlie Haden - double bass
Paul Motian - drums and percussion
Guilhermo Franco - percussion
& a Big band

I have never bought an album with Keith Jarrett that I would instantly use for a freesbie instead.

For Corno Dolce.

Terje Rypdal/Miroslav Vitous/Jack DeJohnette on the album "To Be Continued....", ECM Records 1981.

The musicians:

Terje Rypdal - guitars, flute
Miroslav Vitous - double bass, el. bass, piano
Jack DeJohnette - drums, voice

On of the specialties from Miroslav Vitous is his very strong bow playing on the double bass, like Dave Holland can do it on the cello.

I was listening to the real king of jazz; the fantastic Charlie "bird" Parker. A record called

"bop beginnings". Alas, the players weren't mentioned except the myth himself. It's old

recordings, the "record noise" is there. I didn't know the track "chasin' The Bird" before,

but that's the highlight of the album.

It's a bit late, but a pleasure meeting you here too Intet.
