Hi everybody! I'm new around here. I am in my advancing years but I can still climb a hill without changing gears! Last night , headphoned, I listened to Sonny Criss (with Eddie Lockjaw Davis), some tracks from a Duke Ellington Treasury broadcast, The Modern Jazz Quartet Last Concert, some tracks by trombonist Jerry Tilitz, four tracks by Ornette Coleman Quartet, then one track by Wild Bill Davison 'Blue Again' ;then wrapped it all up with some demolition stuff by Jazz At The Philharmonic.

Hi stu, MJQ is still at the top of my list, magnificent, the Jazz version of chamber music 'The last concert' is a good CD or should I say pair of CD's another good pair is 'Dedicated to Connie' put out in 1995 from a live recording made in Ljubjana in 1960, they really don't come much better
and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the welcome! JHC, thanks for the info on the MJQ Connie Kay Tribute set. I never knew about that one.
Latest listening has been Shorty Rogers And His Giants, the original 'Cool And Crazy' Album. The trumpet section on this really takes off.
Jim Hall-Chet Baker-Paul Desmond- Concierto, Rene Urtreger 'plays Bud Powell', and Eddy Louiss 'Bohemia After Dark'.
