Yes! I find myself doing the "Glenn Gould" thingy (i.e., humming) along with that movement. And, Monsieur Roth has officially de-throned Olivier Latry as my favorite interpreter of that symphony. (No slur against Latry, of course)
today i heard from youtube Olivier Latry playing the Widor 6th,
Eugene Gigout's Grand Choeur dialogue, and Stanley's valuntary in A.
I heard and some more stuff, but thats what i remember most.
NP: Bruckner’s 7th Symphony, performed by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Daniel Barenboim. 1 movement in, and already I prefer it to the von Karajan version (Wiener Philharmoniker, 1989).
