One of the greatest symphonies the 8 of Bruckner.
Played by Gewandhouse and Herbert Blomstedt. This was his last concert as a principle conductor. I admire him a lot, his Nielsen, Schubert, Brahms, Sibelius is a treasure. A wonderfull concerto.
Years ago when he was in Dresden I got a record af Bruckner's 7, which I still is in love with.

More Brahms treasures from Oppitz, the cellosonatas with Heinrich Schiff. There are more famous records of this great music, but this is a gem.

Today Handel's opera 'Flavio', by Jacobs and Ensemble 415. A reasonable effort, nicely recorded.

The cello theme in the slow movement is one of my favorite melodies of all time. I really like Blomstedt's Sibelius but haven't heard much else. I'll bet he does a fine job interpreting Bruckner.

Today--Martinu's Symphony 3 & 4. I'm amazed that Martinu doesn't get more recognition. His symphonies that I've heard so far are marvelous. Very melodic with really creative uses of dissonance and orchestration.
