187 hits in about 46 minutes ... let's see now ... that's ... 24 seconds for each "hit", that is unless Stravinsky missed someone on one of his six shots, then they would have a few seconds more ... :shake:.

What I meant was people in general, not people on this forum. This sort of music doesn't have much of a following outside of classical music circles, and yet I'm sure a lot of people would like it if they heard it.

A good example of people liking atonal music once they get a chance to hear it is this: I was playing a piece by Messiaen at a school concert. Practically nobody in the audience would ever think of listening to mainstream classical music by choice, and yet, after the performance, people were telling me how much they enjoyed it.

Regarding children and atonal music I have also found they are more open to it than the old jokers such as myself

Yes, atonal music seems to appeal to people's sense of 'noise', the sort of thing one might hear in some sort of heavy metal song.
