The BMW 520 Diesel does an easy 60 miles per gallon on a run and has a low tax band. Still pulls 140 MPH and is a dream to drive. The only car that I could drive 650 miles in and get out with only the aches I started with. Give me a decent sized car anytime. I have driven them all and a larger car is inevitably more comfortable.
