FIRST- A STORY...
In a town that I've known, there was an "up-and-coming" politician who sought the endorsement of a more popular (but less bright) established politician. After getting this endorsement, he won the election, and shortly afterwards, installed the established pol in a newly created office, salaried at taxpayer expense. Then, after the eleveé was established, he made demands on this individual that the person proved unable to achieve. After securing re-election, he jettisoned the endorsing politician's office and salary. This leads to one of my personal maxims of the public arena...
