I have no problems with minimalism some I like and some I don’t like
Regarding Etudes Australes well I had never heard it so I went to YT and no that is not for me I found it boring and monotonous. I just can’t be bothered with it, however it will be interesting to read other comments from members here is a YT video.

"Switched on Bach" was as synthy as I like to get.
Trying to replicate Bach with a synthesizer did result in a sex change.

And if you have to talk about musical minimalism, please, consider hard rock.
That's all it is.
Try to imagine one musician with an instrument so loud he replaces a symphony,
and everything he plays is out there and usually non-stop, except for theatrics.
You are condensing all the potential music a large orchestra could build,
into five fingers on a fretboard.
The first passages of "Moonlight Sonata" and Erik Satie's "Gymnopiedes",
are minimalist for me.

One of my favourite living composers is Arvo Part he is considered minimalist I urge all of you to listen to this clip "Spiegel im Spiegel"
for Piano and Cello, now this John and millions is what I would listen to for relaxation at the end of a stressful day.

You are right it does sound a bit more like music and it will not change my opinion.
