With my reduced food intake and my weight loss I find I can cut down on my diabetic drugs. Some days I am down to half doses. Technically I still have to lose 14 pounds to be within (just) the "normal" range. The bottom end of "normal" for me is meant to be 10'7" (147 pounds) which at my height would make me lookm like a garden cane.

If you cook it right goose tends to be oily and crisp, at the same time. If it was too strong it may have been hung for too long.

Further indulgences;

I bought a half pint pot of thick cream to go with the advocaat on me Christmas pud, eating alone I did notuse it all,I then noticed the use by date was today, so last night's chocolate drink wasmixed with cream instead of milkaswas this morning's cup of latte, followed by 50/50 milk and cream on me cereals, still got a bit left,which may well find itself slathered over todays dessert whatever that might be.

(And I'm still not putting any weight on, losing a bit even, about the 13 stone/182lb mark on a 6' frame.)

I have put on weight over Christmas, but it will soon be off and I will continue losing it. My aim is just under 13 stone so not too far to go.

The drugs and steroids I have been on have ruined my good work with my weight. I need to drop 14 lb to get back to where I was. Quite dissapointing but it could have been worse.

Keep at it teddy as you say it could be worse, the one thing that rings true with the passing into old age and all the stuff that goes with it is to be thankful for what you have left. aka count your blessings.

I hear you on that ... all the meds I take, with the exception of Bydureon, are known to add about 20 pounds of weight on diabetics.

I can't walk long distances anymore because of neuropathy (feet) and constant knee pain. The docs keep saying exercise, exercise, exercise and my knee keeps saying pain, pain, pain ... and when I can't feel where my feet are going, or what they are stepping on, that adds to the difficulty.

No pain, no gain ... as some say ... but I'm in pain before the gain can even start, and it's getting worse each year.

Fortunately I can work around the neuropathy in the feet when playing the organ ... I no longer wear organ shoes, just heavy socks, as I can't "feel" the pedals through the thin soles of those shoes.

The ultimate OINK?

Bought a tub of cream, intending to spread it over butter and jam on scones, but it is too thin so I've been using it in coffee and bedtime chocolate yummy!

Whipping would be OK if it was going to get used within a day or so, but any longer and it tends to separate into curds and whey. And I ain't fat, don't mix me up wiv dat bloke from that south eastern county.

Been put on water tablets to help with the pleurisy and have dropped 12 pounds. Quite alarming to think I was storing all that water. Heart specialist next week to find out if I need another opp. as the heart is not pumping properly. At least I have very little appetite at the moment so I am not putting on weight despite the fact that I am eating very little, as most things just don't appeal to me. Nice to know SOME people are still enjoying their food.
