Perseverance will get that weight off, teddy ... you are on the right track, and I envy you right now being able to be faithful to your health.

Keep up the great work - and when next Saturday comes along, portion your food on the plate - a serving no larger than your fist to start with. Eat that portion slowly, and wait possibly 20 minutes before taking another helping. Drink lots of water during a dinner - water is a filler - that is why the waitpersons keep ones water glass full at those 'all you can eat' places ... it's cheaper for them to fill you up with water than cooked foods. :nut:

Lars skip this post, contains descriptions of confectionaries that will do your levels severe overload.

More Oinks, 2 slices of lardy cake washed down with a strawberry milk shake.

For the uninitiated a lardy cake looks similar to a large square flat bun with currants amd sultanas, however it gets its name from the treatment it gets before cooking, the dough is rolled out fairly thin then spread with lard and sprinkled with sugar, folded over, rolled out again, more lard and sugar, repeat 2 or 3 more times, a final dose of lard and sugar, then into the oven, when it comes out a further heavy dose of sugar, allow to cool and eat.

That is the Wiltshire version, the Dorset version gets similar treatment but is finally rolled into a round shape similar to a Chelsea bun but much bigger round.

Both are evil but addictive, *** the sugar and cholesterol.

Sounds good Mike. but as I am down to 14'12 I will not be partaking. Thats a total of 18 pounds that has come off and stayed off, so far. The next 16 pounds seems like quite a big step, but now I really believe I can do it. Although I am still on medication for the diabetes my readings are consistently normal, far lower than they were.

Its been hard but worth while. And if I can do it anyone can. Now I am losing weight my wife will have to find a new nick name for me. Somehow " You skinny lazy *******" does not sound the same.

Still getting through about half dozen scones a week with butter, thick raspberry or strawberry jam and lashings of very thick cream.

Just had 2 faggots, chips (fries) and mushy peas, followed by a tub of vanilla creme dessert.

CD, at 78 should I worry much about cardiologists (or any other 'ologists come to that) or enjoy what life I have left? (wine and song only, no available women in my life now) (currently enjoying BuxWV160, Ciaccona in E minor)

Not so much oink this time, except that there is some in the casserole curently simmering away in the oven, Pork, mushroom and leek, with an apple crumble to follow, the apple enhanced by a few chopped apricots and the crumble with a sprinkling of cinnamon.

Thinks, should I add some dumplings to the casserole; also should I have custard or cream with the crumble (or both)?

Some custard with the crumble will do nicely - Hey, do you like Haggis?
