A new quartet formed by YES alumni, exo-X-xeno, is working on material for their debut album. The lineup features: Billy Sherwood (bass guitar & backing vox), Patrick Moraz (keyboards), Jay Schellen (drums), Craig Maher (lead vocals and guitars).

No firm release date yet although you can see and hear the first single.

Multi sectioned suites, liberal jazz usage, wild counterpoint running lines, all hinting at and successfully evoking the golden age of Rock Progressivo Italiano. In a nutshell, it's a concept homage to a band who really existed in the 1970s, but TRT have written and recorded their own material inspired by that performances...

Robert E. “Robby” Steinhardt, a founding member, violinist and vocalist with the progressive rock band Kansas, has died due to complications from pancreatitis. He was 71...

Steinhardt shared vocal duties with Steve Walsh, switching between backup and lead, but his violin helped set Kansas apart from other prog bands. He had just recorded his very first solo album, and had been looking forward to being back on stage and going on tour.

RIP.

Legendary Canterbury band CARAVAN will release their first studio album since 'Paradise Filter' (2013). Titled 'It’s None Of Your Business', it features nine new songs plus one instrumental track influenced, to a degree, by the events and restrictions placed on society over the past 18 months. Founder member Pye Hastings (guitar/vocals) remains as Caravan’s guiding light and primary songwriter. Geoffrey Richardson (viola, mandolin, guitar) first played with Caravan between 1972 and 1981 and returned to the fold in 1995, Jan Schelhaas (keyboards) and Mark Walker (drums) complete the band with Lee Pomeroy (ELO, Rick Wakeman and Take That) guesting as bass player, while Jimmy Hastings also guests on flute. The date of official release should be October 8th.
