Last night I Watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. Nice new music by Alexandre Desplat,but only a few variations on 'Hedwig's Theme'.

Wakeing Ned. Set in a fictional Irish village and concerning a lottery win. Brilliant acting and a wonderful script and storyline. Hardly anyone under 60 years old. Highly reccommended

Rise of the Planet of the Apes. A really good film that was surprisingly emotionally rich and nuanced (Andy Serkis doing performance capture for the main character). Great score by Patrick Doyle.

A Scanner Darkly, starring Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey Jr. and Woody Harrelson. This film is based on the story of the same name by Philip K. Dick, which I had just finished reading. It hewed very close to the story indeed and I quite enjoyed it.

Sexy Beast, starring Ben Kingsley and Ian McShane. On balance, a very good movie, funny and serious by turns. My only problem with it was that in certain parts--especially when the actors spoke in a very low tone--I had trouble understanding what they were saying.
@ Teddy, Thanks for recommending this movie to me; I thought Ben Kingsley was quite excellent in his fearfulness and evil!
