Great to hear that Montreal is in the "defrost" mode finally, and the first signs of spring.
I envy you (and others) who can enjoy the natural beauty of of Tulips. They were always a beautiful sight when I lived in Washington state - miles of open fields of varying colour.
Yesterday here it was 94° (34.4 C). Right now (11:30AM) it's at 86° (30° C), loads of sunshine, and the desert poppies are starting to bloom.

Krummhorn I think poppies are just as pretty. We don't get the red ones
like Arizona. Here we get the kind that look like carnations. What a
copy cat of a flower. You guys have the Mexican poppies and wild
and colorful daisies. In Pheonix close to where you live there is an
orange grove and the orange trees are blooming with their sweet
fragrance. We don't have that here. Right now all I smell is wild
onions and daffidels!

Judy, daffodils are called paaskelilije in Danish, which means "Easter Lilies" ... very apt.

The daffidils are almost gone thanks to monday's last frost. Apple trees
are getting ready to bloom. They smell good. It won't be long until the
rose bushes start to have roses. Now they really smell good. The temps
here are now 50 degrees F.

I'm waiting for the next thing the Locust trees. They put out white
little blooms that smell sweet and then Blackberry season in May and
honeysuckles. They smell like the orange blossoms. Very sweet
fragrance when they are close by. Oh by the way what this thread
is about, it's sunshine and very warm. A good day for walking and
enjoying the nice weather.:grin:

There is another temperature scale called "kelvin". Absolute zero is then "0 k" and not -273.15 Celsius or -459.67 Fahrenheit. The normal human body teperature is 310.15 kelvin. One can then avoid saying degrees above or below zero and avoid converting betwixt celsius and fahrenheit.
Thusly:
Ice will melt at 273.15 k and water will boil at 373.15 k.
Our sun's surface temperature is around 5800 k but the core is a blistering 13,600,000 k.

I have some strange news. My neck of the woods just had an
earthquake. Strange as it seems. It woke me up this morning
at 4 o'clock. My house shook, my bed shook, the glass in my
windows were rattleing. At first I didn't know what to think of
about it. I hurried up and put some cloths on in case it happened
again. I guess the New Madrid has woke up from it's hundred year
old sleep.
I know that some of you live where you've been in enough earthquakes
that nothing much is said. But when we have one it makes headlines.
The center of the quake started in Illionis and sent it's shockwaves as
far as where I live. This time think God I didn't panic. It just felt good
to my achy back the way it shook. At first I thought I was begining to

Since the earthquake yesterday the weather is also in a tisy. It came
a good rain last night and cooled it down a bit. It's only 52 instead of
it being 82.

Now y'all remember all these "nice" cool days a few months from now when "El Sol" starts beaming all those sun rays on your noggins and frying your brains . At least with the cooler temps we can add clothing ... we can only take off so much when the temps rise above all human understanding :lol:.
Woohoo, actually ran the AC in the car yesterday whilst running my errands ... later, in the evening though, it was windows down and the sunroof wide open. Come to think of it, the AC in the house fired up once or twice yesterday, too - we never let the inside temp rise over 75° (23.8°C) inside the house. Fortunately, our townhome is part of a continuous building of 4 units, ours being the farthest East, so our "western" wall is about 300' feet thick, thus avoiding the brunt of the solid afternoon heat when the sun appears to be setting in that direction.
Today, another beautiful day - loads of sunshine, currently (0830) 72° (22.2°C) and headed towards 90° (32.2°C). For my friend Corno Dolce, that would be 305.222 Kelvin. :lol:.

It's been raining again. I fugured that after such a shake up yesterday
morning.:nut: That's the way I felt too. It felt more like a massage than
an earthquake. I guess I won't forget that one too soon! :hearty
